I saw it twice live at the Ahmanson, 11/10 musical if you like musicals. I think I prefer the sound of the original concept album more, but the use of instruments on stage is excellent and the Americana vibes still come through. I haven’t seen the recording, but definitely see it in any format if you have the chance.
I took the kids to see this one. It was fantastic: good music and a compelling take on the Orpheus and Eurodice myth. Patrick Page has an amazing bass voice, and Amber Gray stole the show as Persephone.
