Go to a bookshop and don’t mind judging books by their covers. Just see what appeals to you, which titles and what covers you like. Pick a nice looking book and read the back. If you still like the sound of it, start reading. If you’re 10 pages in and have been standing there like an idiot, you’ve probably found your book.

In most countries it’s perfectly legal to drink in public, if you’re not driving of course, so it’s a non-issue. In the US it’s illegal most(?) places/cities, but if you put your drink in a paper bag the cops aren’t legally allowed to check what’s in it without a pat down/frisk warrant. That’s my understanding of it at least.

My theory is you should only buy basic, barebones appliances. They don’t try to do anything fancy and just default to what’s been proven to work. Just get a fridge that does cold and nothing else.

Don’t can-opener the lid the whole way, you should leave a little tab.

If you can’t find good children’s books you’re not looking properly. Ask other parents, ask teachers, ask library staff etc. Just like anything most of it is bad, but there’s also real gems and you don’t need hundreds of original stories to entertain a kid, just a few really good ones.

Well maybe it’s not the blocking then. But my experience has been getting 5G signal for 3 seconds, my video deciding to up the streaming quality to 4K, then losing the signal and the video buffering for 5 seconds as my phone regrets its choices. Having set it to prefer 4G I no longer have any issues.

If you just want plain weird, George Saunders was pretty weird, but haven’t read much of his.

I really like Izumi Suzuki’s work, which gets pretty weird also, Gibson-esque I think.

I also love Ada Palmer’s Terra Ignota series, weird in many ways but not sure in the way you mean.

Exordia comes to mind also, though I didn’t enjoy it that much.

The biggest issue is that 5G is very easily blocked by objects, including humans. It’s unavoidably very hard to get a strong stable signal in crowded places. In my humble opinion, the extra speed just isn’t worth the trade-off 🤷🏼

Maybe they’ll finally fix it with 5G UwU!
