2·2 hours agoNo it actually lasts for a long time. We have it on my Lemmy instance for https://old.lemmy.today/ and it’s generated once and lasts for many days, probably a week. I guess it’s configurable but if you generate it too often, your visitors will also be annoyed.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Isn't the totally uncontrolled data-center buildout exactly what an artificial intelligence would have us do?
3·2 hours agoHe is obviously right, at least from where I’m sitting.
The so called elites aim to have humans in a state of depression and stress, so they constantly relieve themselves after work by using TV, games, social media… You know, the bread and circus.
And they want them working their entire lives, always aiming for higher social status. That’s why it’s important that people watch the TV, social media etc because it’s about showing how they are not enough and they need products to improve themselves. That’s what drives the economy and the perception that they are not enough.
Also of course, you can program people with news if they are dumb enough to watch that. Project politicians and conflicts, tell them what side to pick, hoping they never realize they shouldn’t pick any side at all.
Some people realize this, turn off the news, stop watching the circus, and just live their life without being programmed. I like those people. They can actually think. Their opinions are not from the TV or from social media, because they sit down and think for themselves.
Just to know yourself on that level is rare. Know that you are being programmed, and what are you going to do about it. Enjoy the beauty of nature. That peace comes to you.

31·2 hours agoIt’s not greed that is driving it, it’s the desire to monitor every human being in real time.
Yeah its a good choice to not get influenced by voting.

2·3 hours agoBut once the challenge is completed, they have the token and can scrape until it’s expired right? So if it’s just taking them a bit more time to get the auth token, what is it solving?
Example: the token lasts for a week and it takes 30 seconds to get the token.

3·6 hours agoIf you spend it on social media, sure. Which probably is like 99.99% of people today.

2·6 hours agoYeah, it could be that a lot of people don’t care about the color too, that’s true.
I cared a lot actually, even turned down a car because it was black. I have a very nice blue color on my current car and it’s so nice to see it every time in the parking lot.
Lemmy is a total echo chamber, so I was smiling when you said “it’s not immune to it”. That’s the understatement of the year award. :)
Upvotes make sure that popular opinions are at the top and people even report opinions they dont like to moderators here. Lol.
At least I’m on a good instance with a sane owner, but Jesus Christ, this place can be ridiculous. I’ve been told I’m a troll for disagreeing with the majority many, many times.
Not vaccinering against covid used to upset almost everyone, and it probably still does.

4·6 hours agoI wonder if this even is effective. If a bot can solve anubis challenges, why can’t it solve all difficulties?
Lol sure, we also need to create peace on earth. How about doing it on Tuesday, is that a good day? Or next week.
That movie was so cool when I was growing up. And everyone still remembers that movie decades later. So cool.
You watched so much porn didn’t you.
It alters your brain and makes you unable to get attracted to almost any woman. I know because I used to do it.
Quitting porn was the best thing I ever did.
She can protest all the she want, but she doesn’t control how others will react to her. This is typical main character syndrome, and these celebs are so full of it.
“Oh, don’t look at me, unless you are attractive, then its nice!”
They are super privileged to even look like that, although yes, it is also difficult to be an attractive woman. Still, it’s better than being an ugly woman or an ugly man.
I think the is extreamly attractive, so I dont know what this even means.

2·6 hours agoAdvertising made people prefer those colors. IPhones, tech gadgets, speakers, televisions, computers, desks, chairs…
Its not generic, it’s programming of our minds. And now, when a new color MacBook appears, we feel it’s amazing and we want it. Right? Absolutely ridiculous.

8·6 hours agoYou can also see this on cars share i live. Next time you go outside, see what percentage of cars that are white, gray or black. Its the absolute majority. And then you have maybe 20% with different colors.
Its because people have been told that white, gray and black are elegant and you won’t get tired of those colors.
Im so tired of those colors.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Seriously, every time I gotta be out the door. Just let me shut you down.
4·7 hours agoYou can just type “shutdown now” and it does.

Because different people have different needs? You seriously think because this is a Linux sub, people must say that they recommend Linux for everyone they meet?
It’s not a sports team man… People should use the right system for their abilities. Sometimes mac is the best choice.
This opinion used to be common sense!
