I think they mean boring as a compliment, as in stable

I remember people talking about DAO during the crypto hype. That’s quite curious that techbros didn’t try to revive the concept with gen ai

The only place I’ve ever seen the idea of people in their 30s being “old” is in the internet. Is this some american thing too?
I had one with spongebob characters!
Everything is possible with unofficial manufacturers

For me, I already disliked reddit and just needed to know that this place existed

what’s the problem with lemmy.world?
Everything can be bought for life if we die early /s

Long past, if you consider compatibility with older software. ironically, linux is also more compatible with windows software than it is with linux software themselves :D
No wonder manufacturing chips is considered a high level of sovereignty for any country
I understand, but I mean a different kind of pressure. Breaking the economy and letting it bleed. No need to agglomerate at places. The police would have nowhere to act. Invading people’s homes and forcing them to do things isn’t viable at large scale.
I don’t mean that any method is better or worse. I support all of them. However, we have the overlooked power to pressure by taking the economy at hostage by making a “consumption strike” or/and a general work strike. This power grows stronger the larger our economies become
To be fair, we’re perhaps at the most viable moment for nonviolent “passive” revolutions. Our economical system is giant and needs constant growth not to crash, while having a too high inertia to adapt. We only need to make a general strike or a general stop on overconsumption (everyone only buying the very essential, like food and medication) to create enough chaos to take down the ones with power.
Don’t believe me? Just look at how desperate corporations and governments get when some sector shrinks a few percent points, or when people reduce consumption of something. Also look at the obsession of monitoring and understanding our consumption habits, especially from younger people, in order to prepare in advance and never go down a single bit.

The biggest lie that people tell these days is that they proofread ai content lol

According to the older people from my family, life was so shit that drinking was the only thing they had to drift their mind away from it. Today, things changed a lot. We have a variety of methods to drift away.

Since I learned that I can edit configuration files in many games to lower graphics beyond what the game settings allow, so that I can run even recent releases in my low end pc, I don’t plan to buy new hardware even for gaming (yes, the visuals will have lower quality, but these days, with all the shit happening around me, I don’t even care anymore. Besides, they’re usually not that bad)

Looks absurd, but I’m sure a lot of people will pay for it and next year we will have news about apple getting record profits
I’m too tired of all this

They even hve an economical incentive to destroy the books, because by doing so, they will get the data and prevent the competition from getting it for them

your comment makes me think about the many things we probably have a very biased perception of, because we only know about what the media reports
Sorry to burst your bubble, but if your work’s payment feels like a fair deal, you’re very privileged when compared to the average human
Edit: even being able to choose your job is a privilege…
