In my country, we have two official languages, Finnish and Swedish. Finnish is the main language but everyone has to learn Swedish as well. But we also have mandatory English lessons and in fact, we teach more English than Swedish, even though Swedish is a official language and English is not. I learned English from grade 3 to grade 9, Swedish from grade 7 to grade 9. I also took voluntary German and French, but I’ve forgotten most of those.

As to to your main question, the best way to learn a language is to use it. Duolingo and such apps are pretty much useless, they get you started, but if you don’t use the language you might as well be memorizing random words.

Zero. I don’t even know who lives in my building or floor. I have said “hello” to a couple of them, when they happened to be in the stairwell at the same time.

You don’t owe them a explanation though. If they demand a answer, you can just lie, joke or tease them a bit. “I was busy, painting a horse” or “I was attempting a new record at standing on my head.” Or just reply with “did you want something?” if they keep pushing the issue.

Kind of depends. Rifle ammunition? Its a pretty nice amount. Mortar shells? That’ll help. Artillery shells? Good, nice. Long range missiles? You get one. Or half.

A couple months ago I noticed that my old account was still there. Created it in 2005. Went back to scrobbling. Turns out, its pretty fun. Just got over 200k scrobbles, I felt weirdly happy about it.

Its great fun going through lists from 20 years ago. Seeing how a song pops to the top of the list for a month and then disappears, seeing how the list changes from the normal music to stuff like HIM and other more emotional stuff and remembering that thats when I had my first break up and stuff. Seeing when I found a new artist/band and obsessed over it for a month or two… Nostalgia feels lol.

Having watched too many of those “police camera action” shows, I feel like I’m a professional police officer by now so I can give you some bullshit reasoning I just made up:

They probably thought he was gonna run because of previous experiences with the guy. They probably had intelligence that he drives down that road daily at the same time. They just planned accordingly. Often times they do stuff just in case.

Also, if you are just driving about and suddenly you see some dude throw something in front of you, you’ll stop. It might take a while to figure out what was thrown and by that time you are already surrounded and the first copper is pulling your door open.

All in all, pretty nice plan and action.
