Rising of the Shield Hero, does it have a soft ending when it can be safely dropped?

For example, you can stop reading How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom after vol. 4. The author wrote it have it’s own beginning, middle and end. He claims this was done to ensure the readers can a complete story in case it got cancelled, does Shield Hero have something like this?

It’s just a collectible for the perpetually nostalgic, nothing really newsworthy. The entire mainstream gaming industry exists for the perpetually nostalgic as is.

This, but small indies can’t even justify that low of a price tag most of the time. There is a reason that a game like Zorch costing only five bucks surprises people, it’s just not that common.

Hell, it’s less surprising when a game is free since either you are Fortnite and you’ll squeeze your player dry through mtx anyway, or you are Shattered Pixel Dungeon and you just don’t care that much. Those who love it so much can toss you a few bucks on Patreon if they’d like.

Look, all I’m saying is that you need to stop reading this and start playing Shattered Pixel Dungeon right now.

Indie games are dirt in cheap in comparison to AAA budgets and they can’t even justify a ten dollar price tag usually, you may as well give it away at that point.

I’m just really sick of gaming media at large just ignoring that newer developers exist. Indie games aren’t a silverbullet (the variety in smaller releases has plummated and a small set of genres are heavily oversaturated with no signs of stopping) but my word they care a lot more than AAA ever did.

I don’t get why mainstream gaming discussion still hasn’t moved over yet, it makes no sense. Indie games are lightweight, cheap and thus far more accessible for most gamers. You’d think people would fully shift their attention to that segment by now, even if most indies are almost as risk averse as AAA are these days.

Unions need to make a comeback.

Ok, why are we so focused on an ass company’s just as ass subsidiary then? We get more games per year than ever before, insisting on talking about the rotten corpse of the old guard is pointless.

Who cares about the IP they own? Whatever they funded or bought over the years had their time in the spotlight and the world moved on. Even if Xbox was doing well they were never gonna be making another Blinx the Cat or Voodoo Vince. They were going to pump out the slop they put out in a more refined form like Sony does. So get over it already. Gaming moved past the 360, it’s about time you do the same.

I’m so sick of hearing about Xbox. You know they haven’t done anything that interest people for over a decade now, you know their consoles aren’t worth it if you care about exclusives, you know Game Pass ruined their platform and you know they are incapable of putting out good games. And even if they made a push to get stuff out few IPs Xbox is still pushing are washed up relics from late 2000s that only appeal to the perpetually nostalgic 360 crowd. They have nothing to offer to 90% of gamers. So why oh why are we still talking about them?

I don’t get Vim, at all. If I have to sit down and study it how efficent is it really? I am a fan of Vim inspired software though. Qutebrowser was really nice.

Supposedly freedom loving open source folk are as susceptible to flashy marketing surrounding Apple’s shiny new thing as any other consumer. I remember how infuriated I got when I saw the Asahi project. Years upon years of hardwork only to get an operating system, which already runs on computers 99% of the userbace relies on, to run on Apple’s fancy new laptop on the bloc, just because. There so no real benefit to actually do it, be we do it still!
