4·2 months agoTo be fair, there is a way to bet in craps that minimizes the house odds and gets it to a roughly 52% chance the house will win. This is very simple and pretty boring, i.e. not much of a system. As it turns out, these are the lowest house odds for any game found in a casino.

1·3 months agoSame here. It just is a weird story with a sense of humor that isn’t really my thing. I can understand the appeal though.
I’m pretty positive that this is electronic shutter. You can get this effect no matter what your shutter speed is because it is dictated by the sensor read out speed.
Are you shooting with an electronic or electronic first curtain shutter?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What is it like traveling with two passports at the same time?
410·3 months agoExcept most passports are electronic and countries share all of your movements. If you appear out of thin air at an EU border without leaving a country, it will raise suspicion.
The females have the brown spikey head feathers and the males have a blue/ green head without the spikes and a whiter body.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL chicken sold in supermarkets are often "plumped" with a salt water solution to increase sell weight, making up as much as 30% of the total weight, and can contain up to 500mg of sodium per servingEnglish
4·4 months agoAir chilled chicken does not have the same brine issue. I’ve only ever seen it sold as organic, but it is worth it to avoid the brine issues.

I can touch type, but not with proper form. I use a really fast “hunt and peck” method with my two index fingers and my other fingers for specific keys such as backspace, shift, space, ctrl, etc. I can typically type between 70 - 80 wpm with high accuracy.

4·6 months agoThe taste of a spice like cumin will be highly dependent on the age of the seed and if it is ground or not. Ground spices oxidize quickly and lose a lot of volatile compounds which contribute to their depth. To taste cumin properly, it is best to lightly toast whole cumin seeds and then crush/ grind them. The difference between the store bought ground cumin is night and day.
It really depends on the chili for me. Certain chilies can be very spicy but short lived, and others are medium but just destroy my guts for the next day or two. I think it might also have to do with the amount of oil in a dish?

There’s a lot of truth to the fact that stress makes a job engaging and rewarding. For me, that level of stress makes me do a better job. Without it, I get bored, have no drive, and disengage. I’ve learned this about myself over the years and purposely make sure I’m in roles that have higher stress so that I can be happy with what I’m doing for a living.
