You have no toilet paper at urinals so you put your member back into your underwear with more residual piss on it than you would’ve otherwise, and splashback of piss particulates back onto your pants is also a thing.

Especially when you drain the lizard in or at something that’s not one of those round specifically purpose built porcelain urinals. Like those unials that are just a big metal plate, a normal toilet, or a wall or tree.

Linux gaming has been in the lift for a good while now and is getting increasingly difficult write off as insignificant, I’m not sure the intent here is to attract users as much as to just service those the made the switch.

Could also be long game. Ideally this keeps growing and everyone (including the anti-cheat developers that are the sole reason some games still don’t work) are giong to have to take this seriously.

And we don’t know how much actual additional work there is here, it could be relatively trivial to get the client working on Linux.

Heroic is ultimately outside of GOG’s sphere of influence. If you decide to officially lean on them and they decide to drop GOG or Herioc development entirely they’d have to scramble for a replacement.

And honestly I only use Herioc to interface with GOG, i’d probably prefer use the official application if there was any.

What market. Nobody asked them to remove features.

They all pretty much unilaterraly axed these features around the same time so your “choice” in the high-end segment went from having these things to not having these things, at all, in the entire segment, within the timespan of like a year.

So your choice back then was to take the hit or buy a mid-range phone that still packed those features. But it’s not like these things are the only thing that matter. Phones are complex devices. Buying lower end you forego other stuff like memory(speed) processing power, camera quality, build quality, screen quality, software support period, etc.

These things didn’t stop because there’s no market for them. These things stopped because they can get away with removing them to make more money selling you repairs, their own storage variations and bluetooth gear.

You don’t get rid of a car because you don’t like the buttons on your dashboard, if the rest of the car is up to your demands. People now having phones without headphone jacks or sd card trays doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t have preferred otherwise.

You’re a lot more optimistic about the motives than I am.

I’m convinced big tech being able to make more money selling you other storage options instead of allowing you to just expand it yourself with a much cheaper SD card is at least 90 percent of why sd cards stopped being a thing on phones.

Cloud storage will have had some effect on demand but read/write speeds are not a variable if you just store a bunch of music and photo’s on the SD card. Read write speeds to the cloud are also trash compared to internal storage.

Same story with the headphone jack. It’s not that people didn’t use it, there was definately still an audience for it and it’s a part that costs pennies. But axing it boosts the sale of Bluetooth gear.

It’s not a coincidence that Apple and Samsung led the charge here, they sell tons of accessoires.

However, you aren’t locked into PS’ store and things like GOG exist. I make a point to buy games on GOG, and so should anyone interested in OP’s boycott.

While this is true, releases on GOG are few and far between and all the other stores are just (bad) variations of the same thing. Online web stores are very very far from functioning like brick and mortar stores for physical releases used to.

We primarily have “competition” on pc in online stores because some publishers are big enough to build their own just so they don’t have to pay Valve to be on Steam. So you are not technically locked to one store, but you are very much locked to whatever store publishers choose to push their game to.

So essentially you’re locked to all of them unless you choose to just not play said game, which is essentially the same choice you have on the Playstation with just the PS store.

The idea that anyone used one as a truck, or that it could even reasonably be used as one is pretty laughable.

I mean, most people don’t use trucks as trucks.

Gamers are notoriously bad at voting with their wallet so i’m very curious to see what comes of this.

I mean all the power to anybody that actually participates in this but effective boycots don’t usually have a start or end date. This looks more like a strike.

You’re going to need to get everybody to abandon Sony indefinately. Preferably from right now right up untill demands are met. That way you either get what you want, or you do not at which point you know chasing that point further is futile.

Oh yeah. I’ve definately seen some renders that make it look quite nice, but they do that by adding a bunch of elements to it like skirts, extended wheel arches, spoilers, light bars, paint and lower it to the point you can’t use it as a truck anymore.

But then it also really stops being what it origionally was.

It can be a controversial item, but then cars are rarely universally put on a podium for it’s looks. Usually when you cater to broad audiences designs are trending towards the more boring/vanilla side.

The cars that really stick out design wise have always been at least somewhat controversial. Even today still with all these decades of car design exprience. Take for example BMW’s new (massive) grille.

I like the birds, never been a fan of the faces on the bills.

Tesla has a reputation around confronting people with expensive battery pack swaps over a broken coolant pipe and stuff like that, you don’t need them to go out of business for a reasonable chance to turn your car into premature ewaste.

Hate is a big word, but Elon’s antics, the fact that most of the car’s aestetics are essentially superglued trim pieces, and that it just isn’t a better truck in any meaningful sense of the word took away most of this vehicle’s appeal to me.

Mostly the first point though.

That it ultimately didn’t sell for anywhere near the origionally announced price, and that in Europe they don’t want it on the road at all, also doesn’t help.

I also don’t think the Cybertruck’s aestetics are going to age the same way Edsel’s has.

Even placed in de universe of Cyberpunk, where it’s allegedly from, it really is mostly just a dumpster with wheels.

Why would you not just take a secondary (read: wiped) phone going somewhere problematic instead of relying on features like this? You know US border security under Trump plays fast and loose with your rights.

Mis is gelijk weer zo’n zwaar woord maar Den Haag is voor een grote stad nogsteeds behoorlijk pro-auto.

Den Haag is in Nederland de koploper qua autodichtheid, en dat merk je toch aardig aan het leven hier. Er zijn best wel wat meer auto’s in deze stad dan dat er (met name parkeer, maar in de spits ook gewoon verkeer) capaciteit is om dat op te vangen, met alle ongelukken en parkeermalaise die daar bij hoort.

Dat gerommel rond bijvoorbeeld de tram in de goudenregenstraat waar er nog steeds een non-triviaal aantal mensen afscheid willen nemen van een hele tramlijn (!) voor het behoud van een strookje parkeerplaatsen is daar ook zo’n symptoom van.

Er is verder afgezien van wat hogere vergunningskosten ook nog steeds amper beleid tegen het hebben van meerdere auto’s per huishouden of onnodig grote auto’s, zoals mensen die het verzinnen dat ze in Den Haag een Dodge Ram nodig hebben. Blijft toch ook een item zeker in wijken waar je sowieso al minder dan een halve parkeerplek per huishouden hebt zit zo’n pickup truck rustig anderhalve parkeerplek op te vreten.

Gaat toch een keer om moeten, die mentaliteit rond de vanzelfsprekendheid van autobezit in Den Haag.

De fysieke ruimte om gewoon klakkeloos gehoor aan die onbeperkte vraag naar eigen auto’s te geven hebben we gewoon niet. Den Haag moet meer kijken naar deelauto’s voor mensen die echt moeten rijden, en verder vooral inzetten op dingen die veel minder ruimte kosten zoals het ov en fietsen. Zeker als je het hebt over verkeer binnen de stadsgrenzen zelf wil je eigenlijk gewoon niet dat mensen rijden.

The community at large stopped buying games on disc. Evidently to the point Sony feels confident enough to axe them entirely without too much noise. So far it seems to me they are right, I don’t really see the public outrage you can get with other controversies like the launch state of some games.

And why wouldn’t they honestly, this has been pretty much the reality in the PC landscape since the PS3 era and also XBOX is also already pretty much there.

And yeah, technically on the PC there is “comptetition” in terms of other digital storefronts but it’s mostly the publisher that decide where you buy their game, not you. So in practice it’s highly debateable how much that actually works as proper competition for the consumer. In practice you just have a bunch of extra bloat installed…

You might not have that competion on the Playstation, but Sony is now going to have to keep the Playstation interesting to people without offline disc deals people could score elsewhere, we’ll see how they manage…
