“This one quick trick beats DEMOCRACY! The people hate it!”
Not really “turns out;” even our founding fathers understood that democracy isn’t flawless, and that one day we’d need another revolution. This is why the second amendment was added in the first place, they just didn’t anticipate how pacified we’d become as a people in 250 years. Not entirely our fault, of course - there’s a reason “violence is never the answer” was repeated to us ad nauseam for generations. I imagine many parties were held in various mansions when they realized we actually believed it.

I remember about 10 years or so ago, I saw a number of posts on the theme “There is a cabal of old pedophiles who secretly run the world” and I rolled my eyes thinking what a classic conspiracy theory. How wrong I was.
Well it is incorrect. There’s a cabal of old pedophiles who publicly run the world!
And some of them are not even that old. Most are, but not all.
Now it’s public yeah, because they have so much power and nobody can do anything.
Yeah, thankfully their secrecy is slowly being exposed. Not that much is happening about it… yet.
