Yeah man I have mad respect for IT. I’m a developer but my coworker and I also provide support for our application (it’s internal only). I’m always blown away by the stupid tickets that web developers themselves open — like bro you couldn’t bother to open the developer tools in the browser to see the network response or JavaScript exception or whatever??

But I mean why work a job that’s computer-based if you’re scared of computers? That’s the part I don’t understand: businesses just have zero requirements for office work. I think places should at least just check that candidates/employees have minimum tech literacy (what is a file?).

I’m a web developer and I’ve learned they’ll freeze at any sign of an error.

Shit, I’ll write an error message like “carrier credentials missing” and users will still come to me and I’ll say “oh it’s because the carrier credentials are missing” then they’ll go on to solve the problem.

I’ve never understood the mentality of offloading reading comprehension to others. Why do I bother to write clear error messages at all?

Why would the IPv6 addresses issued to you by your ISP be any less traceable than the one IPv4 address they typically give you? It’s fairly obvious which group of devices are related.

Back in 2004 my dad brought home an ancient HP LaserJet 4L. Simply replacing one internal piece inside with a K’Nex (like Lego) the toner lasted all throughout my high school years.

I’ve never understood this. Whole Foods consistently costs less than competitors in my area.

Why are we shitting on laser printers? I thought the inkjets were the cursed ones.

Scottish people aren’t white? You’re not Scottish? I was talking about the irony that you’re referring to the American in question as a “white shit head” when he’s literally descended from your culture.

But whatever bro, honestly I’m just blocking you and moving on. I just don’t have the patience to play 20 Questions with you.

All americans know him and many admire him.

This is bottom of the barrel trolling.

This reminds me of Smoke on TV, the show didn’t seem my speed at first but if you’re patient it’s worth it.

In the future we need to upgrade whatever we’re talking about to the latest and greatest analog even if it has nothing to do with what’s being said (Photoshop → AI generated) — all in the name of appearing “relevant” and “cool” for strangers online.

I’m a web developer but my background is in fast food and retail and I absolutely miss the chaos. I sure felt the fuck out of:

wasing time on projects that had no real value to anyone but a corporation…

I love my job and I love what I do but at the end of the day I often think “now what?” and realize I’ve spent an entire day in a make believe land.

I was running a bar in Scotland

it transpired that his great grandfather was Scottish

    Not him.

America had culture for thousands of years, then some white shit heads did their best to kill it

Aren’t the “white shit heads” in this case from your culture though?

Look, I get it, the US sucks and we are terrible people. But it gets really tiring being shit on by the same people who sent over all the “white shit heads” in the first place.

Could we have an IPv6 one? It’s 2026.

I mean, it didn’t look like AI at all. It literally just looked like a poor Photoshop job.

It can still be pretty Euro-centric but it’s awesome to be able to communicate with people from any number of countries at the same time.

That’s actually very true. I’m vegan these days and I do appreciate the Impossible Whopper very much.

Why are we still fishing? Haven’t we already figured out how to survive without harassing wildlife?
