Fuck you Butterscotch is rad, but also good on you for being consistent regarding your burnt sugar opinions.
My main problem is that you don’t know that unhoused, which is a term I use in this field, is not the same as sleeping rough, another term I use in the field.
I mean, I did say, “And everyone who isn’t affected by it and doesn’t work in the field, or to put it succinctly, the overwhelming majority of people, can intuit what “unhoused” means: Without a house.” I get that in a trade folks might have their trade specific name for stuff, but often you use that with average person and you’re gonna lose them. E.g. The sociological definition of racism vs. the common one, or calling them stanchions instead of something like barrier ropes.
What do you call it in your neck of the woods when someone is both unhoused, ie without a home, and sleeping in a public place, vulnerable to strangers and the elements?
I don’t think the U.S. differentiates all that much, it all gets lumped under ‘homeless’ or ‘experiencing homelessness’ in more progressive areas, which IIRC the rationale is that it changes it from a noun/identity to a verb/shit that’s happening to them, but I may be a bit off there as it has been a while.
Same opinion for butterscotch or nah?
I said one line about how one wording was more clear and the person responding to me dropped two paragraphs about how his linguistic choice was superior. You are attacking the wrong person if you’re mad about dithering.
And sleeping rough is not offensive, and not cute, and it does not reduce the idea to something cute.
‘Sleeping rough’ sounds variously like having a neighbor who has ragers until 3am and/or camping in the woods to me, so annoying or cute. Maybe its a Euro v. U.S. “Lift vs. elevator” thing though.
Everyone who is affected by it or works in the field knows what it means.

The hypothetical “Kamala would have been worse then Trump for the country” thread is already giving me pre-ptsd.
Thought he was just a middling pro wrestler who got absolutely manhandled at one point before I found out about the rest of his life.
I’d think it has blood or poop on or in it, which is plenty enough reason to not touch it.
“Unhoused” states it far more plainly.
eat the beans then do a shot of the bean juice like god intended
Bluesky has a lot of libs, which is certainly better then twitter these days, tho annoying in its own way sometimes (most recently: platner glazing up til he finally dropped.) more robust blocking then twitter, and lets you subscribe to lists of shitters to block. I have had issues with bots but they’ve been fairly easy to spot, and largely resolved when I subscribed to a list that simply blocks everyone who follows 10k+ people.
“How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?”
Make Games For Windows Live again, but vibe code it, I’m sure this time it’ll work.
Resident Shawna Casey said: “Hartman is not a failed town. Hartman is a town that was failed by the systems designed to protect it.”
Years not fixing water to the point where it was unusable, sub 100 population and apparently not growing, all admin staff quit amid fistfights and arguments over fraud and the like. Homegirl is snorting dangerous amounts of copium.
Shelving maybe, but I’m pretty sure every Powell’s has higher ceilings then that.
Oregon does this. At 16.80 in their metro areas atm. Different levels the further outside the bigger cities too.
gotta distract from the failed iran war which was a failed distraction from the epstein files which still need to be released.
I need a city in a bottle but for universes beyond
Personally I don’t bed read because I try to make sure my bed is for sleep alone, which in turn makes it easier to fall asleep. Half laying on a couch works well for me, or lazing in a adirondack too as I can keep drinks nearby.
oh no, anyways
Oh body modification is evil? Tell me more about your protests against dentures, breast implants and lasik.
