I think this post would have been accurate a few years ago but like ram alone costs $300 now days. You really need 16GB minimum.

This all being said I still would vote for PC over PlayStation. You can do so much more.

But at the time the concept of a hero shooter didn’t really exist. You had things like dota and league of legends. You also had things like cs go. All of which were not really hero shooters. Team fortress was closer but it was just cs go with humor and abilities added across 5? Characters. Not the modern select from X champs across 12 genres that the modern hero shooter has.

Overwatch really was the popular birth of the hero shooter.

The idea at the time was you could play your call of duty hero vs a western hero for the first time while a player playing a turret building hero prepped the area.

The tropes were tropes but it was a unique at the time arrangement.

It was balanced in my experience. Other teamhad a niche hard to kill set up? Your team reacts by changing what hero’s you use. There was always something that would work. No set of 6 would be perfect vs all other possible sets of 6.

The OG one time purchase version of Overwatch 1 was top tier in my book. 40 USD got me a game that I got hundreds of hours out of. Maybe thousands.

Rereleasing Overwatch as Overwatch 2 was just bilizzard realizing they didn’t want to miss the live service boat. They microtransactioned and season passed the crap out of the game and re released it again while shutting down the original.

They are making it from scratch. There are lots of sources but this is the first one I found. I assume they package it as well.

Foxcom assembles sub models into complete products. Still higher than slave labor level skills, but not as high as chip fabrication I admit. You need a skill base to assemble phones at a high level.

Your comment made me realize something. As timelapses as “proof of art” get more and more common those timelapses will just be used as training material for future video models.

In a few years I suspect people will be able to ask a video models for a Timelapse for any given piece of “art”.

I mean making the machines to make chips and making a factory that uses said machines are two different things.

There are already factories in China making DDR5 and DDR4 ram now days.

Huawei would just provide the support and resources needed to scale up a new large factory.

No slave labor needed. All you need is a modern, advanced, high skill, responsive industrial base which China has.

I think after such a successful education the vote would be to let a small group of highly educated informed people manage monetary policy. Like small small changes can flatten potential for material growth or just destroy all savings.

Budgeting I totally agree should be democratic. monetary policy is a whole different matter.

Since you are a ml person I recommend checking out how China and the Soviet Union do/did monetary policy. Small group of centralized well informed people.

Ohh god. Please no popular voting to control nation state monetary policy.

Just as complicit as for name verification. 🤷‍♀️

Good news is that systemd is not incorporating age verification just like they are not incorporating name verification.

Both name and birth date are just userdb fields with no verification at all.

I think made up names are the easiest to trademark. No pre existing art by definition.

Yes. The Orion browser on iOS supports both Firefox and chrome plugins.

No one was talking about crypto bro ad company brave (or Firefox) till you brought it up randomly.

I mean you care enough to mention it randomly. 🤷‍♀️

I mean it’s the same with any other browsers with ad blockers on mobile platforms.

Firefox on Android and Orion on IOS both let you use ublock origin.

No need to use crypto bro ad company browser.

Brave users are in a cult. I swear to god.

Small note. If you’re building a PC for Linux avoid Nvidia GPUs. AMD and Intel GPUs have native built in drivers. Avoiding the fragility of babysitting Nvidia proprietary drivers really makes the experience better.

You must be fun at parties. This is a post about hope not doomer thoughts.

    Happy to help.

You can find more information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multicast_DNS

You can learn how to configure it here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Avahi

I see why some people can be confused though. In some distros it needs to be configured. Once you configure it though it should be rock solid.

There is no reason why an ICMP packet would be more robust than a multicast udp packet.

    The traditional nomenclature is myhostname.local

Just make sure that the system firewall is configured to allow mdns. That’s the biggest issue. Once you have e that and you have mdns set up it’s good to go.
