I like city building games and puzzles. I like other things as well, but that’s not important right now.

I don’t need to read Mein Kampf to know that nazism is a bad idea. Sure, it helps, but it’s not necessary.
You need to know the concept of what it gets across, which you presume to with both mein kampf and the Bible because they’re very well known books behind very well known ideologies/religions.
Without reading it for yourself, all your criticisms of it are based on an idea of what the text says - this is even true for “mein kampf”, no matter how un-nuanced a text it might actually be. Maybe there is something surprising in there that you can actually analyse, an interesting thought experiment. Can’t fully interrogate ideas without actually reading them.
Also, I don’t think what you’ve said addresses what my comment was.

One thing I want to learn which seems important to me career wise is HEC-RAS, a hydrological River Analysis Software. I think it’s free?
From this you can build your own predictions of when flooding (or drought!) will occur in your local area
Honestly if Christianity is not part of your life, why would you know that?
Agreed. What i find annoying is people seeding hatred about christianity like it’s their full-time job, but then not taking the time to read how any of the religion works. They’re the ones who should know how the cited “begotten, not made” factoid works.
I reckon I’d be fine with it. I’m built different when it comes to boredom and repetitive tasks. I’ve just remembered I actually volunteered to do data entry for a historical records website, recently, but haven’t gotten around to on boarding because I have other commitments.
I do value your insights though, thank you. Will help me judge when to quit if I do find it tough
Which ones have you used / use the most / have the most gripes with? Other people might be able to point you in the right direction for a good one.
DeepL and Google trnpanslate are the two I know, and I only use deepL now. Don’t remember the names of any others.
As for actually why, well I seem to remember google translate was focused on nuance but seemed to fall off or outright regress in quality since LLMs have become a thing.
They should come up with one box for literal meaning and contextual meaning. You could highlight bits and then have the interface translate just that section. The software is woefully inept for so useful a service 🥲
I don’t know where to to find data entry jobs though, I couldn’t find then in 2022, 2023, and now LLMs seem to be doing them all.
To a zoomer, the prestige of a job is also affected by how non-demanding it is, ergo data entry is a prestigious job
They lie and cheat more openly now because of the idea many hold/held that covid was a control psyop by billionaires and the government, testing how much they can push common citizens around et cetera.
I am neutral on that topic. But the first thing I think with regards to “what changed for the ultra rich, before and after covid?” is that they take less care being evil and manipulative.
Oh shit. Tomorrow’s release day and I’m going to be on vacation for half a week. Do I need to excuse myself from the Internet for a while?
when i was a little boy
girls did cartwheels.
When i was a little boy, little girls did cartwheels. Now that I’m a man, little girls still do cartwheels. I don’t think anything changed.
Hahaha they don’t mean “save her” by picking her up in your car and taking her home, i don’t think.
Violent coercion of women and children into selling sex for their handlers (i.e sexual slavery) is very real. It needs to be shut down by the police, government, et cetera. The utter failure of police to shut down slavery organisations is a big reason people don’t trust the police at all. (Edit: probably adult men are being used as sex slaves right now, too, even in America or europe.)
Yep.
That looks good. Super distinct cover art
Have sex with their spouse?
True.
it happened after I made 4 posts about a humidity issues on 4 different subs. I think that triggered an algorithm to think I am a bot or something.
Reddit when a user has an interest or area of expertise🤭
How do they expect people to be using their site?? Is it just run by people who don’t understand what a forum is, anymore? That means that they don’t even believe in the vision of what reddit is; they must look at the code at work and go “man… it’s going to take a long time ‘till we make an Instagram out of this ugly duckling!”
People patently get pressured to leave the site if they don’t align with certain politics, and religious views are routinely insulted, or people harassed for even implying warmness towards religious concepts.
An instance for religious people to gather and an instance for conservative/right wing people to gather would solve several problems: 1) how do we maintain/draw in an audience from wider backgrounds? 2) how to mitigate/reduce conflict and argumentstion on lemmy (unlike reddit we don’t benefit from feuding), and 3) if people want to censor their experience from such people, or vice versa, defederation or instance blocking exists.
I also agree that lemmy doesn’t necessarily need to be bigger. But I would expect a lot of more traditional-views users to appear when they get sick of twitter, having probably been banned/driven from reddit already.
So what you’re saying is google knows how to spell Mia Khalifa’s name. Does this mean they want my attention?
It’s getting safer in some places, but i think you’re right that OP is american
On the bright side, I think you’re making some really good and convincing observations for her being AuDHD, maybe if you write them down, one day it’ll be helpful or convincing to her.
