This is the first time nurses have gone on strike in British Columbia since 1989, and the first province-wide nursing strike anywhere in Canada since nurses in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador went on strike in 1999.

Over the weekend, the Western Standard published an op-ed titled “What is a Canadian?” authored by Daniel Tyrie, the former executive director of Maxime Bernier’s far-right People’s Party of Canada, who now heads a white nationalist group called the Dominion Society.

Do want to point out there was a post about how poor of a journalist this guy is and his crap show on Global News. Then subsequently it seems like there has been a giant uptick of Global News posts many which are either just very superficial article or just straight up wire feed repost.

Looks like someone is taking a vacation to play one of the many victim’s of cancel culture…. While they tour the country doing speaking engagements and podcasts!

Shauna MacKinnon, the chair of Urban and Inner-City Studies at the University of Winnipeg published an article last February calling Canada’s 30-plus year experiment of trusting the private sector to provide housing “a failure.”

A copy of these internal communications shared with PressProgress shows a strike vote is officially one of the options facing workers, if the province insists on putting limits on the nurses’ benefits package — particularly targeting massages and physiotherapy — which is currently 100% covered by the province. This comes after a June Castanet report of nurses at one BC hospital saying they would be willing to go on strike over cuts to their benefits.

According to her campaign materials, Liberal candidate Stephanie McLean might sound like a Liberal candidate who could appeal to working-class voters in the Vancouver Island riding of Esquimalt–Saanich–Sooke.

“We were shocked to learn that Professor Tucker was recently abruptly removed from this teaching assignment and are deeply concerned that the decision for the removal relates largely to his advocacy for more learning and discussion about Palestine and Israel. We are aware that the university is being lobbied intensely to silence discussion of what is happening in Gaza, and we strongly suspect that the decision regarding Professor Tucker is linked to his activities in this regard.”
