Depends on the field, no? I am study math as hobby and books from over a century ago do pretty well.
It’s an introduction class, just start with history of computers and shift to programming from there.
You know, the history of computers, the Alan Turing, and the first assembly language, and the first software engineer, and “the entire pre-1992 internet.”
Steam client scares me.
I love the “extremely grand articulation” jokes. It’s like a subgenre of absurdist humour that just hits the spot.
One of the movie piracy sites I use has a button to share on tumblr.
We are just sabotaging the sneaky image recognition model training, don’t mind.
Can we make every month 28 days while at it?
🎵 She’s an aaant eater. An aaaant eater on the floor.
And she’s eatin’ like she has never ate before. 🎵
Beauty standards for women are unrealistic, and an imaginary ideal.
Unless it’s me. Then I am a failure for not achieving them >:3
(On a sidenote, now I am wondering if trans men go through something similar too with “boys don’t cry” etc)
Ooh can confirm: Our coach taught us that nazi germany was communist and north korea killed more people than any civilization in history.
So the employer murdered someone…
Kinda similar: When I play strategy games, I like to roleplay as historians writing about my empire.
Like “Ah yes, the reign of Queen Copre the 3rd, also known as the Irish golden age. It lasted 4 whole weeks before she died of stress. Her heir kept the momentum going and conquered eastward all the way until the Circassia-Abkhazia border, somehow”
Context: They think anon is Romani. An ethnic group heavily oppressed and even purged at times since the mediveal era.
They seem contrarian because half their ideas are outdated by centuries and against the modern commom sense.
Sounds a bit circle-jerky, but anarchists and socialists are just arguing “We could fix racism and homelessnes easier my way.” meanwhile conservatives in the back are going “Prove racism exists! Also high homelessnes rates are actually a good thing because…”
Isn’t “post-scarcity society” a big part of star trek too? Weird to claim you are a star trek fan while defending “scarcity generator 3000.”
The whole “there are starving children in Africa” just felt like ignoring local problems ngl.
Most nearby schools in US has kids that can’t afford lunch, a good chunk are even homeless too. There are starving children in your 2 mile area.
But mentioning them also raises the question of “why not campaign now and volunteer now and vote now to solve that issue.” So people rather mention the problems an ocean away as the adult version of procrastination.
Also for the record, average upper-class american family could help both groups at the same time by working as extra hard as most people do daily.
