One of the most fragile aspects of the modern economic system are logistics and infrastructure. Westerner economies on the micro and macro scale are very vulnerable to disruption.
Their mind can literally not comprehend Iran.
Insularity is not the same as insulated. Living in PR which is a satellite of empire this is clear. All our goods come from the US merchant ships. If they decided to blockade us during an uprising, it wouldn’t take long for us to fall. They got us by the balls. Underdeveloped by design and at their mercy. I imagine Hawai’i and Guam are under similar circumstances.
But anyway, what you say is true, I just wanted to explain how I understood it as an islander. The West fancies itself immune, when in truth, they’re at our mercy. They depend more on the Global South than we do on them. They just have control of the tokens necessary to play in their Time-Out. Which means we just gotta build our own.
