Weird that this was before 9/11

Give it twenty minutes

I think there’s a difference between law enforcement and police, though the word “enforcement” does stick in my craw a little. I don’t know if it’s what the OP was getting at, but there does need to be some way to ensure that people don’t abuse others even in an anarchist society.
That could be community intervention in the moment and social services in the long term, with cessation of community support as a last resort for people who simply will not cooperate with the community.
Of course, there would be a lot less crime in a supportive society, but it wouldn’t disappear entirely.

I read the article and somehow missed that, thanks.
I think it’s the other way around, but yes.

I tend to want to hibernate and watch crappy TV (come dine with me), depending on the kind of sick, I’ll want to eat something like vegetable maultaschen or buttered noodles and drink tea. My husband is really great about taking care of me when I’m sick. I don’t really want much when I’m sick normally, because he just anticipates a lot of it. The only time I find myself fantasizing about a better sick day experience comes when I’ve got really bad menstrual cramps, because what would help most is not within the realm of possibility.
What I would love in a dream scenario when I have awful cramps is basically two large bathtubs lined with gardening kneeling pads, one filled normally with warm water, and one filled about halfway with cool to cold water. And I’d like to bitch and moan while changing positions and switching between them the whole time. If they’re really bad, I’d like someone else to switch me between them.
That said, he makes me cool beverages and prepares hot water bottles and cold wet towels for me. He rolls out the yoga mat and listens to my bitching without complaint, which is the next best thing, given that we don’t have any bathtubs.
Edit: I know that sounds like a gendered term, but I literally sound like a moaning dog in heat. There are no words, just HEEEENGGGGGGGGGG

We saw this in action when programming shifted from employing mostly women to mostly men.

Figures. Pacifism might be the best thing about JWs.
Edit: about the belief system- I don’t think it’s fair to characterize the individuals who may have very little exposure to non JW philosophies.
The more reputable (but still popularly misunderstood and wildly overestimated) version is traumatic bonding.
None of these feel very scientific, and I don’t know why, because there is a phenomenon that happens sometimes wherein people bond with their abusers or captors. Patty Hearst didn’t voluntarily run away, she was kidnapped by people who were verifiably violent towards her. Then at some point, they became comrades.

So he’s going to get a ban from all international powerlifting events in the future (after they confirm that he actually wrote the YouTube comment), right?
Also, even if you’re verifiably a super genius, I think you’d probably get fired for throwing your own shit, biting people, and stealing stuff eventually.

That may be, but it’s still better than Farage!

I don’t normally weigh the things they say very highly, but I think Susie Wiles was being very descriptive when she said he had an alcoholic’s personality.

Best thing Russia has done in a long time
/s I know what happens to that money

To be fair, she’s very drunk.
I thought she was at a pottery wheel and I was about to suggest we make another installment in the Ghost trilogy: this one’s called Phantom and the cover shows a sculptress sitting at the wheel with two ghosts behind her.

I think the point is to make the audience consider whether they’d like to support the artists they listen to by using something other than YouTube/spotify
If every grocery store did this, that is the market. We can’t decide to not eat, and even with a 10% markup, grocery stores are still cheaper than most other options.
