I’m pretty particular about scents and fragrances. Anything that is floral gives me headaches and makes me itchy and sneeze.
Fruity is my favorite scent and it doesn’t usually bother me, sometimes it irritates my skin with some ingredients. I love anything with a citrus scent, it makes me feel fresh and tasty lol

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do you people read books?English
7·18 hours agoI read pretty much only fiction, but I’ll pick up nonfiction occasionally if it’s a topic that really interests me, usually insects or spiders 😁
I sit too much already, so I’ve been reading on my feet more. I’ll usually walk a path around my living room table or through a couple of rooms. It’s made it easier for me to read more that way because I’m not slumped over and hurting my back. I don’t walk fast, just a slow casual stroll on a set path where I know I won’t trip. Sometimes I’ll pause at a corner and lean against the wall for a few minutes before I start walking again.
- bonus question: what was a recent hard book that you enjoyed (and made you reframe stuff) and would recommend?
A book I would recommend that made me reframe thoughts on autonomy was The Stars Are Legion by Kameron Hurley. There were parts that were pretty brutal and difficult to read, but I think it’s a great thought experiment. Annie Bot by Sierra Greer is also great in this area.
Give me one cocktail or hard seltzer at a party then I’m done with drinking and happy.
Keep passing me all the weed, I’ll never be done, but I’ll be happy.
🤣
lol ok good, I’d hate to have a long lost twin. Just shows cool people are all around us 😁

WomensStuff@piefed.blahaj.zone•Monday motivation... what are you going to get sorted this week?English
1·6 days agoI’m sorting shit with my family this week. Saw one side this past weekend, seeing the other side this week.
My Uncle mentioned how he wished my cousin and I would bury the hatchet and I agree with him! I don’t even know why the fuck she’s been mad at me since we were kids. Well I have an idea, but it’s not something I did, rather it’s someone else’s behavior I’m being held responsible for. Even my Uncle said so. I’m planning on reaching out to cousin and extend an olive branch because I hated seeing that look on my Uncle’s face. I’m ready to let go of the past, I really hope she is too.
The only time I get remotely competitive is when playing EDH. Even then, I don’t necessarily have to win to have fun, I’m ok with 2nd place, but I’ll fight to get there. Other than that, I’m not really competitive at all.
Lady wtf lol I played violin too. I swear we are long lost twins 🤣 Did you play field hockey as well?
I was the same, I was always second violin and very happy about that. I hated the snobbishness of the first chairs, it was very much not for me.

2·7 days agoAmateur is the best stuff and I agree with pretty much everything you said, except:
choking seem to have become a thing all of the sudden.
This is something I really enjoy a lot so I like seeing it in porn 🫣
Not to mention any number of women looking like they’re choking and gagging while doing oral.
But this is one that I also find gross, not sexy at all, and will immediately switch to something else.
And I don’t feel like you really yucked anyone’s yum 💚

5·7 days agoWhat I find really funny about your comment Velma, is that I had the exact same experience except it’s made me take on a much more “submissive” role in bed.
Except when it comes to pegging, that’s where the more “domme” side comes out lol

9·7 days agoMy height and I’m not even that tall, just ~5 inches taller than average women. Always made fun of for being the tall girl, often had guys be weird about me in heels, frequently told my height makes me less of a woman.
Jokes on them, I can reach that top shelf without help and I can help other ladies who are shorter reach things, so poo on them!

7·7 days agoI’m 42 and just started recognizing symptoms within the last year or two. It hasn’t been too bad yet, mostly some night sweats, major mood swings changes leading up to my period, and some slight vertigo that thankfully doesn’t last too long. I have been having more sleeping issues, but it’s mostly taken care of with melatonin.
I’ve started recognizing them because so many women are more open and willing to talk about their experiences. My hair stylist and her colleagues are always talking about symptoms and eating more protein or taking HRT. My colleagues are open about different HRT methods that have worked best for them. And my best friend is 10 years older than me and almost at menopause, she’s very open about her experiences to anyone. I love how women are openly speaking about perimenopause and menopause now because my mother and many of my friends mothers never talked about it and were made to feel shame for a natural process.
I mentioned that I’ve been noticing symptoms to the nurse and my doctor, both said I’m only 42 and too young. They are also younger women, at least younger than me. Thankfully, my symptoms are very easily manageable at this time, but I will be talking to my gyno about it at my next OBGYN appointment, which was a recommendation by my primary doctor too.

27·12 days agoNo lie, I used to sell similar looking outfits to middle aged women in the early 2000s when I worked in retail fashion. The low cut button up, the cropped pants, and the same kind of shoes. We even used to sell big chunky shiny necklaces too! It was super hip and fashionable women’s outfit at the time.
I’m so glad these gross people were arrested. Hopefully it sticks this time!

6·13 days agoI’m flying back to my home state on Wednesday to see some family, then taking a train to another state to see other family for a few days before I fly back. It’s going to be sooooooo hottttt.
I have to finish prepping my garden water timer so I don’t have to remind my partner when to water the garden. Everything is ready, I just have to start plugging tubes in. Hopefully I’ll come back to more tomatoes, hot peppers, and cucumbers!
I feel her joy when she says her dress has pockets. I also love pockets in my dress to carry my knife!

4·16 days agoI get it! I just love hearing “you have such a pretty cunt” lol 🫣

I used Uber quite a few times while traveling over the last 2 weeks. I was initially so excited to have women only as an option, so I chose it for my first ride.
I was so very disappointed with my driver, she spent the entire trip talking to someone on the 15 minute ride. I’m not one to chit chat with the driver, but having full on phone calls during a ride seems a little over the top to me. I would definitely use this option if I was going out with friends to the bar or something.
That said, I had more disappointing rides this time than I’ve ever had before. Out of 8 rides, only 4 were friendly outside of confirming that I was the correct rider. Of the 8 rides, 4 rides I had luggage with me, I’m not sure if there has been a policy change but only 2 of the drivers even offered to assist with my luggage. I had it, but the offer is nice. Thankfully, the last ride to take me home, the guy helped with my bag, I was so exhausted at that point.
These 8 rides were across 3 different states, so it’s not just a specific area. I dunno, I was just disappointed with all but 3 of the rides.
