I actually thought it’s advised against isolating drinking water hot water pipes because of legionnaires disease. If the water in the pipes doesn’t cool down fast enough but stays stagnant and warm for prolonged periods of time, you risk growing the bacteria
Not that I’m aware of. It’s still common practice. The problem is with water standing still over a period of time (if i remember well, over a week) end especially dead ends. I got rid of the dead ends and the waterheater is set to 70 degrees celcius. That ought to do it.
edit: the well gives water at 6 degrees which is well below 18, so i’m good there too)
