Destiny was exactly like this for me. I really enjoyed the first 20-30hrs. Then it was “just something to do” when one day I realized “this game actually kinda sucks” and I haven’t played since.

Most of the people I know are cutting back not because of health or habits, just because everything is so crazy expensive now. I feel like booze has been almost completely priced out of its target demographic.

Here I thought DSA is just a keycap profile. I was a bit confused. I mean, I like SA and Cherry better but DSA isn’t bad if it’s ortholinear.

I grew up during 110 & 35mm point and shoots… I even shot on 120mm medium format a bit… then I moved to digital p&s and finally iPhones/Smartphones. As an avid photographer, I’ve also owned and used extensively my SLR and DSLR’s (and now Mirrorless “DSLR”).

I absolutely loved my Canon SR-T 101, then my Canon T6s, and finally I recently picked up a Canon R6. I own more L series glass than I care to admit and will choose that experience and the output and control I have over those photos above pretty much anything else.

But I’ll say this: the best camera to capture a moment is the one in your hand. A modern iPhone takes pretty solid photos. Definitely better than some I’ve used along the way. Is it perfect, no. But most of the time, the choice is “take a photo with what you’ve got, or miss the opportunity”. Now, for obvious reasons I don’t always carry my R6 with a 24-105L attached, but at least I can still get some decent photos.

If you like the aesthetic of an early 2000’s Point and Shoot, have fun! learn it well and it’ll probably get you some interesting photos. That’s the joy of photography. The composition, medium and subject are only part of the style and everyone can have their own flair and decide what they like.

Do I wish there were some modern P&S pocketable cameras, yep… but I already have a phone that takes up that spot and it’s always on me anyway.

What I think is interesting here is that I regularly give Claude a sentence or four that it then thinks on for 10-15 min. Like, maybe 40 words tops, generally closer to 25-30. I can type that in seconds. And then wait 10-15 min. If it took me 3x as long to type it in, it still wouldn’t impact my day or output.

Technically “layoffs” are different from “firing”.

Layoffs are typically high in number, wider reaching, reductions in force just to cut numbers.

Firings are targeted and generally (though they don’t have to be) with cause and have a procedure (performance reviews, improvement plans, warnings, etc.)

Not to say you can’t target a layoff to include all your lower performers, more to say that you can still fire someone outside of a layoff.

That’s what I thought was happening here. The headline is a bit incorrect… the monitor didn’t install the bloatware, Windows did.

Now the drivers/software that Windows installed is likely from the MS store/update path and was made and signed by LG, but still. Plug this monitor into linux and it’s not going to do it because linux doesn’t have that mechanism.
