Knitting•I have conquered the Norwegian purl!
3·3 years ago@jkirkendall @knitting Feeling pretty left out and somewhat peer pressured by everyone learning this lately, but sometimes peer pressure is a good thing 😁
Congrats!
@ellwall Thanks! To be clear I was definitely not asking you to make an account anywhere (that would be extremely demanding of me!). But the two apps talk to each other, it’s very clever, so your helpful info will make it to the OP 🙂 Much appreciated!
@ellwall Ooh welcome! 🥳
If you check out the post I was replying to, someone had a question about bubbles in clay that I thought someone here might have an answer to.
(If you can’t see it for whatever reason its at https://lemmy.world/post/8470206)
I’m no potter but never turn down the opportunity to learn more about other crafts just in case I take them up one day 😆

Cross stitch and embroidery@sh.itjust.works•PSA: Remember to take regular backups of your Pattern Keeper progress
3·3 years ago@bitflipped Definitely with you there! In this case the app in question actually has a pretty good export / backup process but I just got complacent and didn’t use it enough. Worked out ok in the end but it very nearly didn’t and my lesson is learned! 😬

Cross stitch and embroidery@sh.itjust.works•Um, has anyone ever bothered manually converting a decently large paper pattern into digital?
3·3 years ago@MrJameGumb Sounds like something a super cool YouTuber might already have given up on, more like 😛

2·3 years ago@Jornia @Drachin @lemmy_stitch Will let you know how long this takes and if it was worth it in the end 😅

Cross stitch and embroidery@sh.itjust.works•Um, has anyone ever bothered manually converting a decently large paper pattern into digital?
2·3 years ago@Jornia @Drachin @lemmy_stitch Sadly mine has so much backstitch everywhere PK can’t really make sense of it. But you know what, I’m in the groove, I’ll just keep going.
For science! 😆

Cross stitch and embroidery@sh.itjust.works•Um, has anyone ever bothered manually converting a decently large paper pattern into digital?
3·3 years ago@Jornia @Drachin @lemmy_stitch Thank you! Mine is significantly smaller, but still big enough to be a pain in paper form, so sounds like I was on the right track all along.

2·3 years ago@ubermeisters Ah right, I was thinking maybe you meant people scan in the paper version, project it onto the fabric and sketch it out or something! Other way round makes a lot more sense 😁

2·3 years ago@ubermeisters May have to look into this at some point if I ever stitch any more of their paper-only patterns!

1·3 years ago@Timecircleline Oh that is cool! I’ve actually never tried double knitting so can’t advise there, but all I’ll say is a month ago you probably didn’t think socks would be so easy either…
