They also claimed to be for small business. But their concept of small business was inheritance class, angel investors, tech start ups and using family money as a launch vehicle. They don’t consider entrepreneurs, career professionals or family run brick and mortar operations within their equations when they say “we need to help small business”. Right wingers concerns stop at ensuring tax cuts for ownership, inheritance and wealth, not for incentivising business risk taking, producitivity and market excellence.

They say the fish rots from the head down, and the same applies to organisations. Rot sets in when leadership becomes obsessed with short term gains, prioritises optics over substance, and treats excellence as a performance rather than a standard to live up to.

When you follow the money to the top, especially in publicly listed companies, it gets pretty grim. You see the same small circle of people rotating across boards, often lacking deep, tangible understanding of what they’re overseeing, appointed more for status and connections than competence.

Meanwhile, the people who actually built and sustain the company, the ones whose livelihoods depend on it, barely factor into the equation. They’re seen as nothing more than furniture that gets passed along with a company acquisition. Culture flows from that reality. When leadership rewards self serving behaviour, people adapt accordingly.

That’s how you end up with environments that feel psychopathic, not necessarily because individuals start that way, but because the system consistently selects for and reinforces it.

My 2c anyway.

The corporate mentality. All the behaviours of a psychopath. None of the medical explanation.

I think we are in a key moment for change to happen at a big societal level. As others have said the problem isn’t any of the technologies listed, it’s how they are being exploited and the perception of them maligned by said exploitation.

Capitalism is a big part of this problem. As is the messy elastic way that human society implements change over time. tl;dr - some people will pull society forward, others pull it back a bit. That’s the “elasticity” at a macro level.

For most of my life I’ve witnessed a gradual degradation, a reduction, entropy and resignation. Balance requires that we now leap forward again. I remain hopeful that a great correction is not just inevitable, it’s coming in my lifetime.

The people aren’t ready to do anything about it yet either.

It’s kinda baffling. A country with a violent gun culture obsessed with rising up against any totalitarian government… And yet all of it is just a lie funded by the military industrial complex.

I don’t see how any citizen with a gun stands a chance against drone strikes and SWAT teams. The best leverage American workers have over the rich is the same as everywhere else in the world:

• Stop going to work.
• Peacefully disobey the authorities.
• Don’t believe the narrative and create art.
• Form strong local communities and alternative economies.

What’s the bullying by China? Financial manipulation via the great belt?

I do acknowledge some of their neighbours have legitimate reasons to complain. e.g. Tibet. The Philippines.

That may all be bad but it’s not on the same scale as starting a war that affects the world.

Especially a war that’s so goddamn stupid, wasn’t necessary and is about to end in a embarassing loss.
