i pay (on top of my tax deductions) about monthly 150eur for health insurance, and on top of that a yearly 384 eur “eigen risico” (own risk). still better than the US, but free it is not.
your “only” is doing some heavy lifting there :) but of course i wouldn’t have it any other way.

the sad thing is that the team actually didn’t cheat, their fucking president did. I feel for those poor guys in the US national team that have to bear the shame of their flatulant president cheating in their name.

2·28 days agopretty much everything i am or have been using in the last (*checks calendar) 29 years. my debian server setups, frankly by now (despite all the hate) my rock solid manjaro from the last ~8years, my raspbians… hard to pinpoint one particular piece of sw that works better than the others. but what comes to mind now: i have a mostly command line based workflow to create a yearly photo book out of family pictures from that year, using exiv2, imagemagick, and some basic bash stuff. this has been in use for 5 years now, i haven’t changed it and it’s quicker than any grahical thing that could replace it. ai could probably improve or automate it more but by now I’m so used to it that i cannot be bothered to start with it.

knowing now that Trump signed the MoA (or somtehing to that effect) in Versailles, I can’t help seeing the parallels of some other famous capitulations that were signed in/near Versailles :)

the problem is exactly the fact that it is a repo; it introduces a layer of unknown between the dev and the user. and the user will unavoidably “trust” it (especially when it’s listed amongst official repos in e.g. the graphical version of Pamac), without understanding the risks.
meanwhile here i am, in my classic car manufactured in 1985 and with a grin on my face every time i drive it.
sure, but by that rationale when i open any website in my browser it just becomes a static page served from local cache, meaning everything is serverless 99% of the time :)
