Mines are not the problem. Rare earth’s are everywhere. However they are in low concentrations and so we don’t bother to extract them from ores when we mine something else. That refining tends to be an ecological disaster as well.

I can’t say for sure from pictures but my guess is everything is safe for in water use and so no worry. It doesn’t take much to drain the water out

Depends but i would say quarter is way too much. Generally dimensioned lumber is close enough that right on is just fine but rough cut needs more tolerance. My habit was often a 32 less and the rest breaks off with no danger to the blade.

Treated wood should be treated through and so no need to treat the ends

I doubt there is a single year in human history (including before writing) where somebody in your village has not in some form made the claim or asked the question. There is always some old person reminiscing about how much better the past was, and young people who hear of bad news and wonder if maybe the past was better since they only hear about really really bad things in stories not the day to day bad but not enough to tell around the fire.

The first step is NOT announcing that you are doing this though. Writing announcements are easy, I’ve seen many over the years. Only a few have turned into a real large project.

Circular saw with the blade set such that it just barely will cut all the way through.

I’ve been a professional before. Where it mattered we cut the ends off in place that same way.

I didn’t mean to imply that, fixed the wording

I stopped using Facebook because I got tired of all of that. “You won’t believe what [other party] is doing”…

there are a lot of people interested in such a thing in the US. We call them XUVs and the likes of Polaris and John Deere have been selling them for decades. The price is more than $8000, but you get a lot of luxury features and a network of dealers who know how to fix it. They are likely more heavy duty [than the thing in the article] as most people who buy these are using them for work.

Right. Let me know if in 5 years there is a steady team of people still working on this. Any programmer can grab the source code and make a few modifications and release it. However it takes a lot of effort/dedication to maintain something for the years needed to be good/useful.

I saw rants very much like yours 30 years ago - before you first masters…
A masters has always to my knowledge been one additional year after you have a 4 year degree. So that they only require 1 year for the second degree is expected - you already have a 4 year degree, a masters is one additional year of advance study on top of it.
While someone can, in practice that doesn’t happen in most cases

That is half the point, find where China has leverage and mitigate that by developing the industry in the EU thus destroying the leverage.
What is the practical difference between code not accepted and code hidden?
The source is available but not in a form that will be accepted upstream. Often for good reason, but that doesn’t do you any good.

Their double down is still behind where most of their rivals are retreating to. Toyota has some nice hybrids and PEHV, but nearly everyone else has some nice EVs.
Nice. I’ve been doing it freehand on a log I have, and the going is slow. I haven’t seen that adapter before, but I think I will get it to finish.
I find that I’m wore out before my batteries are all dead, so an electric saw isn’t the limitation you think it would be.
