Thanks, and that’s what I was thinking might be the case. CachyOS has an easy tool for switching kernels, and I have a vague memory of needing to blacklist certain parameters during boot, but I’ll have to look into that more. Somebody kindly shared a migration guide link elsewhere to look at, and I bet it talks about some of the things you’ve mentioned.

I tried MX Linux, and it didn’t work with my hardware at all! Something was broken with the desktop shell or window manager that drew everything in the wrong places
That’s not to say it’s bad, but it definitely isn’t as plug-and-play as some other distros.
They’re virtually comparable in features, but there’s no denying that the more open nature of AMD naturally leads to fewer pain points. I haven’t had any significant ones (and not ones I know would instead work with AMD), but there could be things that aren’t working well now that I’ve just taken for granted, since I only have the one GPU.
Generally speaking, either GPU should work great for most people for common workloads.
Thankfully, I don’t do much GPU computing outside of simple video editing and games. Cuda was never a selling point for me; it was mainly raytracing, and generally speaking, I don’t use it much anymore now that I’ve experienced the wow factor.

This is class warfare. The wealthy thought they could get away with targeted harassment just because they’re used to getting their way, and they know there’s two tiers of justice.

I get that, and I think in other states with better drivers this could work, but Texans are uniquely horrible drivers. I have driven and ridden in other states, and I have never had to be as defensive as I am in Texas.
I’m aware that they are two different traffic maneuvers, but I still hold that both are not good ideas in Texas.
As a rider myself, I think lane splitting or filtering is a terrible idea, specifically in Texas. Texans are some of the most oblivious, most entitled drivers I’ve ever experienced, and until that driving style changes, having some extra lane capabilities just for motorcycles sounds like accidents waiting to happen from drivers who can barely handle the existing rules.

I did. To be perfectly frank, I think they are wrong. They even said that divulging the contents of your mind is protected by the fifth amendment, but they also say that noncommunicative actions (like entering a password) are not. So you can’t be compelled to say what your password is verbally, but you can be compelled to essentially write it? Absolute horseshit.
Anyway, you are correct that this is more about alleged destruction of evidence. Hopefully the court isn’t able to rule on that at all due to the case being tossed.

It is absolutely true. The fifth amendment means US citizens have a right to silence. It has already been ruled that neither the government nor the courts can compel someone to divulge a password under those fifth amendment protections, which is why former mayor Eric Adams was able to avoid having his phone searched by the FBI.
Whether this is destruction of evidence or not will be a decision made by the courts (it’s a question at the heart of the matter in the first place), and the facts that he was allegedly repeatedly denied access to a lawyer and not read his Miranda rights are both things that are decidedly in his favor for getting the case tossed before that question is even addressed.
Agreed. But the question wasn’t, “What’s the bare minimum a politician should do,” it was, “What has she done that’s progressive?” I listed two examples that I’m familiar with, though I would expect there’s more.
I’m not saying she’s some progressive paragon, but she can have enacted both progressive policies and regressive pro-corporate ones. Generally speaking, people aren’t stereotypes, and anyone who’s presenting that case should immediately raise red flags that they’re either not engaged with what politicians are actually doing or they’ve got an agenda (see other politicians and pundits).
There’s plenty of room to despise establishment Democrats without lying or oversimplifying them down to a single quote.
