you can’t really say that and not mention the fact that e-ink is reflective and almost literally looks like paper, which is the main appeal for a ton of people. It’s vastly more comfortable to look at for long periods, and remains easily readable in direct sunlight (just like paper).

not needing continous refresh won’t go away, i have no earthly clue why you’d assume that.

all this does is let it reach higher peak refresh rate by being smart about how it refreshes, if anything it should make the panels MORE efficient since they don’t need to refresh everything at once.

when you say “every single iteration”, does that include stuff like lineageos? Because that’s what i’ve been using for ages and i still struggle to believe how non-shitty it is.

ironically google’s pixel lineup is one of the best options available, i’ve been using that for many years now and it’s so fucking easy to install lineage on them.

seriously, lineageos after having dived into every setting is by far the best mobile experience these days, i’m almost never even slightly annoyed by it.
