He has spoken of the USSR and historical Russia, I think he has been hoping to try and take over all of the surrounding land to restore the ‘empire’ and have better protection with the mountainous regions.
I don’t think the Ukrainian government would have made any difference no matter who they are.
It would have made a difference. If the Russian-puppet leaders had stayed in place then there would have been no fight and just controlled by Russia the easy way.

Russia still spouts the “they’re Nazis” nonsense in all kinds of directions. Do you think those are correct too?

Boohoo you don’t have gas. You are the same people that thought it’s A-OK when hospitals were hit by cruise missiles that had not strayed from target, schools were hit, monuments, and when the pride and joy of the Russian Federation was to bomb heating plants in Ukraine in the middle of winter.
I’d say, you reap what you sow, but I don’t wish upon anyone the destruction that Russia has wrought upon Ukraine. May you be in fuel queues until the day you die, though.
I think I was most impressed by the guy who jerry rigged an extra gas tank in the back seat of his fucking car.

Strawberries at a thousand rubles reminds me of this American psychologist who was embedded with the Allied force that captured Aachen as the first major city of Germany in late 1944.
When he interviewed the local Germans they reported that the past few years had been tough on them. Nobody had had any real coffee since forever, and no butter, either.
War really is hell, I guess.

So let’s see 1000 rubles is about 13 dollars, and a kilogram is 2.2 pounds . So a little over six dollars a pound. That’s about what strawberries are locally. Good to know that “the country is imploding” prices are about the same around the world.
The median income in Russia is 4 times less than the USA. So to earn that strawberry money would take 4 times longer.
