Lucifer was cast out of heaven for upsetting Heaven by speaking truth to power. It would totally fit if Lucifer complained about how much God is a dick.

God wanted to give free will to man. Lucifer was adamant that it would go tits up and ruin everything, so he tried to oppose god.

God cast out Lucifer and did it anyway.

Lucifer watched sassily as it did indeed go tits up almost immediately.

Lucifer doesn’t hate man, but pities him. Even if he wanted to, he could never inflict the kind of ingenious horrors on us that we inflict on each other.

Didn’t man gain free will (“knowledge of good & evil”) expressly against god’s wishes by eating from the fruit of the tree in Eden? I seem to remember him being kinda miffed about that.

I think you have it the wrong way around man. In the Genesis myth God forbids touching the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but they do it anyways because of the snake’s rizz. But they are only able to do it because they already have free will at that point.

That’s what I mean, God gave man free will, but expected them to obey and do the ‘right’ thing regardless, even though they don’t have to.

Lucifer immediately proved they would disobey by suggesting they eat the fruit even after being told not to, and it was all downhill from there.

            At least, that’s my interpretation.

You know, one time… one time… I told him to fuck off. He kicked me out of the tree house. So, I made my own tree house, with a sauna, and all the cool people hang out there.

The thing about the religious is that they don’t really believe that atheists exist. They think it’s a giant joke at their expense.

This is primarily because they are so arrogant and indoctrinated that they cannot accept that someone else’s point of view could be just as valid to that person, as their point of view is to themselves.

Yeah, that’s the circle of life. But with that, like the poster in the screenshot, I find factory farming of animals to be absolutely horrendous and try to avoid supporting it. I feel hunting, on the other hand, is absolutely acceptable, and in some ecosystems necessary.

I agree. I’m native and I am a vegetarian, but I can’t say eating animals is wrong, no more wrong or immoral than if a bear ate me. I just choose not to. If I did eat an animal it would have to be hunted, treated with respect, and not wasted. So I eat it maybe once a year at family gatherings . But even that is enough for vegans to say I’m just as bad as a factory farmer, which honestly I think is hubris.

You want to choose not to eat meat, great. But to think we humans are above it all, above this world and the circle of life as you said, is just narcissism. Especially when it’s a city white kid telling natives they’re terrible for surviving as that always have

Overthrow god. After all, history is written by the victors and god would be known as the bad guy had he lost.

Even God thought what we’re currently doing to animals is too f-ed up though. The Bible mentions that sexual acts with an animal is a sin 4 times and the punishment for it is death, for both the perpetrator and the animal. Since impregnating a cow is definitely a sexual act, most animal farmers would be put to death if we followed the Bible.
