There are already AIs you can run on your computer or even your cell phone, they are just really really specialized or dumb.

Even if you could magically network every desktop, laptop, workstation and cell phone in the world and run them all full power 24 hours a day doing nothing but powering this network, you are probably an order of magnitude or more behind even current data center capacity.

Its not even really an AI problem. Prior authorization is being used as a roadblock to reduce service. If AI starts magically making perfect judgements and returning a higher level of service, well thats more expensive and that just wont do. Partly, the actual frontier of AI is currently mostly vibes and marketing, as everyone’s cheated the tests so badly that the only way to stay in the running is to cheat. Partly, that weve passed the point where even an honest evaluator could say which general purpose model is better than another, since their performance fluxuates wildly from task to task.
