No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do americans living in Red States really despise american living in Blue States?
17·3 days agoNot all of course, but when my mom (blue state) married my dad (red state) and they decided to live in the blue state, the family understanding was that the heathen harlots stole their perfect child from them. Never mind that he literally left the state on his 18th birthday looking for more out of life than rotting in a trailer.

2·5 days agoIt’s been shown that using AI generated data in AI training leads to a system collapse after surprisingly few iterations. It needs outside data to grow. And using AI slop just reinforces current data bias.
Once we can make those we can boil the SHIT out of water!
It’s from a Prepotente line in Book 5 actually. It’s not a huge moment, but I’d prefer not to spoil it for you.
Tried to upload a pic, but it didn’t go through.

Nintendo@lemmy.world•The scratches on the pins of brand new Switch 2 games are not normal, right?English
2·12 days agoThat’s what the policy was bak in the day. My friend used to get games a week before they came out to try. The thinking was that he would be able to discuss new games with customers. Now, this was before day 1 patches and online activation and all such. Not sure if they still do this.

3·13 days agoI know back in the day, gamestop employees could borrow new games before they were available, and they still sold them as new. Don’t know if that’s still standard practice.

12·14 days agoWhy wouldn’t there be a camera on the white board? Poor tech implementation.
How would you implant the digital personality into a flesh body. Also, the way current machine learning large language models (what is currently called AI, and for this case, I think there must be a distinction) generate responses are not the ways a sentient generates responses, so the created being would not have the personality of someone, they would be closer to someone doing an impersonation. To see what I mean, tell ChatGPT to act like a celebrity you are familiar with, and talk with it over a long period of time. It will eventually get worse, and worse and worse as the conversation continues.

1·17 days agoMe? I’m not going to. I don’t have influence or power. But I will support those that do, and my tiny amount of support makes it easier, rather than accepting that nothing can change.

1·18 days agoOk? This is likely true. What is your point? It is not easy or convenient. But easy and convenient do not make right or wrong, moral or immoral, legal or illegal.

I’d 100% take the guaranteed 50k. 50k would help me enough that I’m not willing to risk the 50% nothing.
