Little pouches of nicotine like zyns, I dunno if they contain any actual tobacco but it’s similar to chew where you stuff them in your lip. I’ve tried them a couple of times & it always feels like they left some kind of burn/sore in my lip

I am also a big fan of Yuri

There’s probably people around him pushing for seizing Greenland as part of some ridiculous plan to control the north west passage after all the sea ice melts, with Alaska on one end and a newly American Greenland (RedWhite&Blueland?) on the other, but I could see using a mercador projection to push trump in that direction

A perfect example of why there’s no such thing as a good cop (with rare exceptions
), if you go in trying to reform the system from the inside they’ll punish you for not falling in line.

I would keep it out of morbid curiosity but I also have a collection of Chick Tracts squirreled away

Carpet belongs in the bathroom and kitchen and no where else
Don’t forget chemical/biological weapons (which they continued to test on the general populace without their knowledge) including Agent Orange (not the only Nazi connection to Vietnam), the American military including the very genesis of special forces (look up Larry Thorne, very influential in American special forces & a devout Nazi), and other various highly influential positions in American institutions

That’s a good question, I’ll admit I’m not super familiar with WW2 beyond the basics or Osprey Publishing as a good source (I assume that’s what you were asking about). I remember there was a Russian documentary series you can find on YouTube called Soviet Storm, for a while there was an English dub but it’s been a while since I checked. As far as I can remember it was pretty decent & didn’t buy into the whole “human wave” thing

Lol owned, sucks to suck

Plus even in the unlikely event you do get selected to train as an aspirant I’m pretty sure you’re more likely to be killed during “training” than actually becoming a marine

Now I’m imagining a secret Tau-backed Red Army Faction accidentally discovering a fledgeling genestealer cult and having to wage a clandestine war while dodging the authorities.
This single sentence is more interesting and has more potential than 99% of the recent GW warzones/scenarios that boil down to Named Character X faces off against Named Space Marine Y. Tau-backed insurgents having to fight genestealers while both are being hunted by local Imperium forces? Now that sounds like a sick scenario, hell if GW wasn’t afraid of making boxes that don’t include an imperium side Tau Gue’vesa vs Genestealer Cult would make a hell of a killteam box

Commissars in 40k are like if all Nazi/western propaganda about WW2 Soviet political officers was actually real. They shoot men over the slightest infraction, shoot men to “encourage” the rest to charge, shoot men for falling back without orders, they’re basically the dudes shooting the retreating Soviets in Enemy At The Gates.
There are more “reasonable” ones like Gaunt and Cain, but they’re exceptions to the rule. Most of the time 40k commissars are exactly that, a spectre of death shooting their own men for the smallest reasons

I hate it when Abominable Intelligence is correct

Abominable Intelligence does go fucking hard, too bad the second you use any 40k coded phrases you get a bunch of chuds screaming about xenos, mutants, and heretics

Flanking and surrounding your enemy is literally the oldest trick in the book, shit flanking maneuvers are literally older than the concept of writing.
“Og and Thog had spears and were looking right at me, but I had Pvt Grog go around so he can attack from the side”
-from the cave-painting memoirs of Colonel Crog (retd)

The tourney scene and associated rules churn really put me off 40k. I played fairly rarely, maybe once every month or two, and it felt like every time I had to read up on new FAQ’s, errata, updates, and other adjustments. I just want a casual game where we roll some dice and see what our little toy soldiers do.
I’ve slowly been building up my imperial guard force but between new models being cost-prohibitive (thank you wargames Atlantic for selling reasonable troops) and adjustments to the faction/game (free wargear was a terrible addition to the game) I don’t have any desire to actually set up a game of 40k any time soon

No western military has had to fight a war against anything resembling a peer-to-peer force since Vietnam or Korea, and by now everyone with experience in that sort of fighting is dead or retired. It’s all been air strikes and “counter insurgency” for the past 50 years. Walking around Iraq or Afghanistan until you get blown up by an IED doesn’t do much to teach you about drone combat or missile interception/avoidance, and leisurely bombing weddings doesn’t prepare you to actually avoid being shot down.
And on the contrary, the enemies of imperialism have had near constant experience adapting to American weapons and tactics

Even if all the anti-tau propaganda is true (ethereal mind control, human sterilization, etc) I’d still rather defect to the tau than live as a prole in the Imperium. In every depiction of human life under the tau everything seems chill as far as the circumstances allow.
I can’t fucking stand people who are unironic imperium fans. This is what happens when GW saw that unironic adoration of fascism was profitable as fuck. They can say it’s satire all they want, and occasionally individual authors will remember that, but so much of 40k media/lore is just praising the fascist theocratic zelot child soldiers because they have cool armour and sell a lot of models
All in glorious transparent plastic, I miss the days of see through tech
