These look amazing! What kind of knot did you use? I want to learn it.
Thank you. I don’t remember what they’re called. I just youtubed “tying paracord” and looked for a knot that looked neat. The loops are simple braids. The shorter stick has 2 types of knot. The longer stick just one. I just kind of made up a way to tie them together, not sure if it’s “right”.
Suddenly I get why a dog would be obsessed with a stick. Those are some pleasing to behold objects.

I also am curious about your process. Did you bake or treat the wood pre-seal? How many hours of work went into them?
The sticks sat in my garage for over a year. I don’t know, maybe 4 hours each, total. Sanding and tying the knots, took the most time. I’ve never really done much woodworking before. It’s all kind of experimental for me.
How many layers of laquer to produce that kind of gloss?
3 Coats of brush on polyurethane.
