Who is pre-buying tickets to the movies and why the fuck does pre-buying tickets to the movies exist in the first place?
I cannot imagine paying months in advance for a ticket to watch a movie.
What if it literally sucks dick? What if it is the worst Marvel movie to ever come out? The fuck is wrong with you people?
If you live in a major city these things sell out pretty quickly. It may be hard to get a good showtime in for about two weeks once it’s out, especially since people love going in groups. If you are socially active (online or in person) things will likely get spoiled for you by the time you even get to see it.
I mean you buy tickets in advance to other forms of entertainment. Concerts, live theater, sports, they all have you buying your seat well before the show.
Also if it sucks, why would it matter if I buy a ticket today versus the day of the showing? I’m seeing it day one/opening weekend.
It matters to me enough to rant about it, but not enough to try to even do anything about it. It’s just very bizarre. This wasn’t a thing that long ago, at the risk of sounding like old man yelling at clouds.jpeg
Sure, but the Internet wasn’t a thing that long ago. But again people buy ahead for other forms of entertainment, why not movies? Why are movies a line too far? Why not concerts? Why not live theater? Why not sports? Those are all normal buy ahead entertainment, why not films?
Personally I don’t buy tickets more than a week or so in advance, but that’s my personal choice. I’m flexible on where and when I see a film. I have tons of theaters around me, I’ll be fine.
What if you can’t make it. Fucking films coming out in December now saying it going sold out because people bought in August? Good thing only superhero movies I ever saw were Deadpool movies. I will wait watch it at home.
Your town has one theater. Maybe two, but it’s really similar to the other one. Some towns have many choices, and maybe one theater is much better. You pre-order to get a seat at the good theater.
Usually a decent cancelation policy: up to showtime.
