I think the Jedi were incredibly stupid in Episodes 1, 2, 3.
They had a prophecy about one to bring Balance in a time when the Jedi were unquestionably dominant. Well Balance during that time, would obviously require the Jedi to be taken down. Anakin was that balance. The Jedi order was destroyed and the Sith began their period of domination. Creating Balance.

The next obvious story for Episodes 7, 8, 9, would have been a the creation of a new order, neither Jedi or Sith, that fostered Balance within each member. That’s where Rian Johnson was going with Ep. 8. But the idiot Glass Union came back and shat the bed trying desperately to unravel all that. He decided to go back to the same old thing all over again.

The lowest estimate I found of sales volume through self checkout is 38%.
So a 10% self checkout discount is 3.8% hit to revenue. When profits are only 2.8% they’ll take a 1% loss.

The CEO pay being only 0.4% of that $3.8B profit. Isn’t remotely enough to matter.

They’re generally not.
They’re typically an improvement in production quality. They only place they’re weaker sometimes, is when they try to make substantive changes to the story. That can be hit or miss.

The more important metric, would be is Kagi better or worse than the competition.

If Google is kneecapping its index partners, that’s a problem for everyone. It won’t be unique to Kagi.

You’re right, it’s not. It’s a trick question. The senator wants a “yes” or “no” that can be used in a good clip or sound byte. Any more complicated answer is useless to them. Since they aren’t interested in a real informative answer they just steamroll on to the next potently clip-able question, because they only have a couple min for their turn to ask questions.

On the other side, sometimes it’s the one answering who’s being disingenuous. They can give a long rambling response meant to run out the clock, rather than honestly answer. In that case the senator asking questions might want to move on because they recognize a non-answer, and again only have a couple min for their questions.

The primary problem in both cases is the time limit of the questioning. It’s the very reason most of these senate testimony hearings are such a farce. A real hearing can take days or weeks to interview a single person. But that’s too much to ask of congress apparently.
