I used Letterboxd for a single summer, and have since moved entirely to Trakt.tv. So far like it way more.

Branson, MO. I’ve been pretty far south, but I’ve never felt so many judgemental eyes on me until I went to Branson. Crazy religious stuff everywhere, casual racism and bigotry. Felt like going back in time.

Just got out of it. I believe I enjoyed it. It definitely felt like it’s own thing, while still being very recognizable to anyone who knows the “source material” if you can call it that.

I think it also was able to avoid most of the baggage the whole backrooms/liminal space memes have at this point. That being said…

Now this is interesting. Based on your use of “trolley” I can assume you aren’t from the US. Is there anything stopping you from throwing some extra items in the cart and walking out without scanning? I can’t imagine this happening in the states unless they could ensure you pay every penny first.

Kenshi. Did that one start where you’re missing an arm. Was able to start making some money scavenging the dead for weapons and valuables, and selling them. Got enough to start a modest wheat farm. Unfortunately the tax man arrived, and I was in no state to pay, so I’ve been on the run. Don’t know where I’ll end up at this point.

You can install a custom launcher on eos. I will say that the default apps cannot be uninstalled, but I heard there’s a way to do it by connecting your phone to your PC.

I created a random username for osm that’s different from my usual. I’m sure if you went into my change history, you could figure out a lot about me. But, it isn’t tied to any other account in an obvious way, so that gives me a small bit of peace of mind.

Is thus currently automated in some way? Like will the “check for updates” run periodically, or is it just however often you run it yourself?

As someone who’s worked in an engineering field. This response is almost certainly saying “we currently can’t do this reliably” and hoping nobody will force them to.

I have /e/os. I decided on that pretty early on in my degoogling journey. Main reason being that I believe any privacy venture will come with tradeoffs, but I went with the “most things will work” approach. They have this neat privacy manager that tells you which trackers come from where, and I think that covers my needs. There has been exactly zero apps that haven’t worked so far, and most people that use my phone just think it’s a standard pixel.

The app lounge kind of blows though. I use the F-Droid app for updating F-Droid apps instead of it, since there was some weird stuff about where they were getting open source apps from. I use it for the play store, and it does what it needs to, although there is some weirdness with it like not being able to tell which apps have recently updated and when. I like the idea of joining app repositories together, but it needs work.

I always thought Huntarr was a bit over engineered for what it did. Here’s a script you can just throw into your crontab that does the same thing

But it WAS supposed to be Bloodlines 2. It was GOING to be Bloodlines 2. It suffered a development hell for the ages, and changing the name near release would do nothing but hurt sales. (But perhaps garner some good will for Paradox. Although they don’t seem to be in that business these days)
