The Piefed devs are gigalibs who hard-code in their politics, blocking left-wing instances in the server software itself rather than letting instance admins configure that sort of stuff. Even if you agree with their politics, consider if you want to be using software that actively forbids users from interacting with conflicting politics even if the user wants to. If you agree with the principles of free software, then that doesn’t seem to respect user freedom to me.

Not an answer to what your dish is as others have already answered that, but it would help to know what food you do like as a picky eater, to suggest vegetable dishes that you would like. Going along with the Japanese theme, you could try vegetable tempura as a tasty way to get veggies. East Asia has a lot of yummy ways to eat vegetables. Stir fried, included in noodle dishes, kimchi, etc.

I don’t really hoard them. I keep a collection of ISOs on a 16 GB Ventoy drive, but that’s not a lot.

I didn’t—I like to pick up old second-hand laptops that are selling for cheap and tinker with them (install different OSes, coreboot them, etc). One of the machines I regularly use is OpenBSD, but it’s not my sole OS. My gaming machine is Linux—afaik you’re gonna have a tough time trying to play AAA games on any other (FOSS) OS, but I’ve not tried, because the laptop I run OpenBSD on is an old underpowered Thinkpad anyway.

That stew does sound rather plain. I’d add stuff like leeks and also just more vegetables of your choosing. A mirepoix, spinach, kale, peas, whatever vegetables you like. I’d also add some stock cubes. I don’t think ground meat makes very good stock, so it would benefit from stock cubes/powder. It’s just cheaper to bulk things out with vegetables and carbs.

As for making you feel full for longer, generally fat makes you feel full for longer, so you could try getting ground meat with higher % fat (sticking to your ingredients) or just adding maybe some olive oil or butter to the stew. It is extra calories which I guess might make you gain weight, but calories are energy and excess energy becomes fat (stored energy), so your two stated goals of not gaining weight and having enough energy are at odds—not irreconcilable, but it’d be a balancing act.

As an OpenBSD user I find it funny how they list OpenBSD as 0%. Like, they could’ve just omitted it.

Do you actually want to read them, firstly? I can read “hard” books just fine when they’re on a topic I’m genuinely interested in and I actually want to read the book. But if I force myself to read a “hard” book on something I don’t care about, it’ll be painful.

I always highlight and annotate non-fiction with any thoughts/comments/etc, and if it’s a work I expect to find particularly valuable, I also take separate notes. Usually these are digital notes in the note-taking app of my choice (currently Notesnook), but for some books I get a physical notebook. It also helps motivate me if I get some nice highlighters and pens and take pretty notes.

I know people with degrees in software engineering. CS is not the same thing as software engineering. CS includes more theoretical and mathematical stuff whereas software eng is about the practice.

You can, but most email servers redirect mail to root@xolat.games to some other user eg xolatgames@xolat.games. The root user usually does not have their own inbox.

Just reading the first logs you pasted, it tells you the answer there. You can’t receive emails because you’re trying to receive emails as root, and writing emails to the home directory. Dovecot doesn’t run as root so it can’t write to root’s home directory.

You would ordinarily not receive mail as root. Most people set up root to redirect to your actual user. Look into Postfix aliases.

Try emailing a non-root user. It should write to the inbox. I mean, without your Dovecot configs, I can’t tell if there’s anything else wrong with them, but from the errors it seems Dovecot would work if not for the permissions errors.

In the context of the OP, of course, if you’re using an LLM just to write int i = 0; then you might be stupid. But possibly if you’re using LLMs to do tedious tasks like writing unit tests then you might be able to argue that they’re generic enough to not infringe copyright even if the legal situation is resolved in favour of LLM output belonging to the IP holders of the training data. It’s just a legal grey area, which is presumably why so many projects are concerned about merging LLM output.

Windows isn’t the only problem. The amount of bloated proprietary spyware the average user uses is also a problem, aside from just the bloated proprietary spyware OS. Most people switching over to Linux will also replace any proprietary software they were using before, with FOSS, which is a good thing. For most people, switching out the OS itself is the biggest step, not replacing user software.

RAM matters for a VM, to give the VM enough memory to run the OS. Wine is not a VM though, so you only need a “normal” amount of RAM to run a Windows program through Wine, ie whatever the recommended amount of memory is for Office. Not all programs work well through wine though; Office might not. I don’t know why you’d need to run MS Office specifically though when LibreOffice exists. Do you have a specific use case?

I mean… “Linux”, the kernel, has a different API to “Windows”, so by definition, no, those are two different APIs a program would have to call. I suppose it’s probably hypothetically possible to fork the Linux kernel to add support for Windows APIs, but I don’t know why anyone would want to do that when Wine and, failing that, VMs exist.

If you configure Wine to open exes then it is as simple as “just download an exe file and run it”.
