What models? I have an i4 and I have never been hit with this or those subscription services everyone kept talking about. I wonder if it is happening only in certain models.

I cannot comment on that but anecdotally I can say that I normally do not see a lot hiring during the holidays and a lot of firings in March and Q2. I have no explanation for the March thing.

Do note that December is the tail of the budget year. First and second quarter is when many companies execute the year’s strategy and burn budget. Third quarter is a bit late but still active.

For us, our clients came out hot and heavy the first two quarters, more than doubling the order totals for 2025. Hiring was hectic for most of Q1 and all of Q2. Q4 is pretty dead most of the time.

I was setting up some template VMs on a fresh Proxmox VE (VM server) yesterday. Total install and troubleshooting times for each template were as follows;

• Linux Mint Debian Edition - 20 minutes
• Windows 10 IOT LTSC - 3 hours
• Windows 11 IOT LTSV - 6 hours, with the benefit of lessons learned from the Win 10 install.

The amount of obscure configs I had to dig up just to get them going was disgusting. Also, why the fuck are so many drivers not in Win10/11 by default, yet Linux has no issue including them all at a fraction of the ISO size?

If only somebody, anybody, had warned us this would happen.

Fair enough, although to me a better comparison is DVD (480p) vs Blu-Ray (1080p). Not a big deal if you watch on a phone, but pretty bad if you try it on your living room 4k TV.

Ethics aside, can you not hear the noise and artifacts in the vocals? The repeptitive overuse of the same reverb? The heavy handed compression?

AI music keeps showing up in my “stations” and I have to instantly skip. It’s just awful and they cannot fix it because they trained the models with highly compressed music from Spotify and it “learned” that compression nouse artifacts are a natural part of music, so now it reproduces and exaggerates them every time.

If he is alive and unable to serve, that would also trigger the special election, which is why they keep him (or his corpse) hidden.
