Bug Report

Describe the issue: <!-- Please describe what happened and what you expected to happen -->

I’ve reported this previously but it is still happening.

When setting an alert on a community, the notifications for new posts are delayed. I’m generally getting a notification for the previous new post when another one is posted. When I go to the community I often have to manually refresh to see new posts (and then Connect will notify me of them).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Subscribe to !dailybunnies@lemmy.dbzer0.com
  2. Tap the alarm bell to request new post alerts
  3. Wait (that community has two posts a day so is quite easy to see the problem)
  4. Observe that the alerts don’t come through when expected

I’ve seen the issue of notifications about a previous post from a couple of updated back but haven’t noticed it recently. Although I currently don’t have any alerts set and I think it’s an issue with alerts for communities. But for me, If memory serves, when I made a new post, shortly afterwards, I would get a notification for the post I made previously.

EDIT: It’s any new post; not just my own. There was just a new post in this comm and I got a notification for the previous post instead.

Yes, if it knows of the post it alerts correctly. I think it’s not refreshing the alerting communities often enough. Even though I’m subbed to it, maybe it doesn’t refresh my feed on the background?
