The First Spring in Everwinter is a short story-driven adventure combining elements of a visual novel and RPG, created as a personal experiment with the genre and an attempt to implement and test its gameplay mechanics.

As the story unfolds, the journey of an adventurer begins: completing quests, earning coins, exploring new lands and their surroundings, drawing maps, interacting with various characters, and making decisions that influence how others perceive you.

For a long time, the lands of Everwinter remained inaccessible: white snow, cold winds, and frozen waters kept this place hidden from curious eyes for many centuries – until the spring thaw finally arrived. The eternal winter that concealed these lands suddenly receded, revealing uncharted territories to travelers and ordinary wanderers alike.

Now, as the icy mountains have given way to dense green forests, adventurers from all corners of the kingdom are heading north in search of riches, dangers, and new discoveries.

And among these adventurers is Nell of Crownfosse.

Hello, fellow strangers!

I'm looking for feedback on my visual novel «What’s wrong in Oakwood Hills» and I'd appreciate your help with that.

I released it a few months ago, but I didn't get any feedback, so I would like to hear your opinion on the storyline and the overall narrative, as well as your general impression of the game, if possible. The game itself about 30-60 minutes to play, so it won't take up much of your time.

Thank you in advance for your feedback and any comments with your opinion about the game!

Большое спасибо за развернутый отзыв! <з

WELCOME TO OAKWOOD HILLS!

Oakwood Hills is a typical small town in the American heartland where nothing ever happens. It seems that the biggest events in the town's history were the construction of Becky's Diner, famous throughout the county for its milkshakes, and the opening of the local power station.

Despite its simplicity, this place has three main advantages: clean air, beautiful landscapes, and an oak forest surrounding the town on all sides and hiding dozens of different lakes.

Sounds pretty good, right? But what is really hidden behind the picture of the perfect town?

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

«What's wrong in Oakwood Hills» is just the beginning of the events taking place in the town. Give this little story a chance, immerse yourself in it, and if you like it, leave a comment.

As the author, I would very much like to continue this story (I already have further plot ideas and new interactive features for the game in my notes), but this will be possible only if Oakwood Hills finds a place in your hearts.

Enjoy the game!

And thank you for visiting Oakwood Hills!
