I’m still growing + Tangents

Our last summer morning of us running at the same time in the mornings–> Brooke with her friends, and me with mine. 8 miles @ 8:27 average.
It was a girls’ afternoon, so we chose Zao’s for lunch because Andrew does not like this place, and we love it.

Then we had back-to-school night for all of the kids. My soul aches.

Now for probably too many tangents.
*I tried out these shorts (on sale!), and they are officially the best Athleta shorts EVER. The waistband is so comfy, the fabric is so light/airy, and there are plenty of pockets.

*A pic of the fabric on these shorts… I love the small detailed touch on them:

*I am POSITIVE this was Brooke’s bike yesterday, and now he is riding it.

*If I didn’t know any better, I would think Brooke and Curly were actual sisters.

*I had to show you the shoes Skye chose because they are so dang cute.

*Ummmmm if I ever do ultras again, I will buy this ice bandana. Brilliant.

*With school starting this week, I’m excited to lock in again with my running. I really thought I would keep up with at least one speed workout a week during the summer. I did not. But with the kids going back to school and a less hectic schedule, my two biggest goals are to get in a bit more training/strength training and eat at the dinner table again most nights.

*I have recently gotten taller. For as long as I’ve known, I have been 5’8.75″. UNTIL now. I am now 5’9.25″. That is half an inch of growth since the last time I was measured at a doctor’s office. I have been measured by multiple people now to confirm this growth… I HAVE GROWN AS AN ADULT. And the craziest part, my sister has, too. She has grown .75 inches! How crazy is this?? I wonder how long we will keep growing?

*They LOVE soccer together.

*This is the tint set that my niece uses on our eyebrows. She uses this brush to apply the tint on my eyebrows, too.

*Those of you on the sidelines often right now, please bring a NeeDoh with you to squish during games. This orange blob helps me to stay sane.

*When my niece (Curly, but her real name starts with an A) got back from Argentina, she saw my necklace and thought it stood for her name and mine. I should have let her keep believing that was the case.

*Have you ever tried Liquid Death? This one was AMAZING.

*Jess sent this to me because she knows our village:

*When you are eating a bowl of food, do you mix it all together or eat it in a wall fashion as Brooke does?

Any new goals for you with the school year starting?
Bowls of food–> Mix or wall?
Any popular food spots that others seem to love that you just don’t?
Any tangents?

Everyone is in school this year??!! That first day is going to be so hard but exciting!
Im really looking forward to routine. Also looking forward to more dinners together as a family. We still have 2 weeks before school starts but Im bringing back hill work, started with hill repeats this morning.
We have a burger place out here, Im not going to out them but everyone likes them and I just dont get it.

SO many feelings all at the same time! Let’s work on our family dinner goals together! Way to get in hill repeats, those are no joke. It’s always funny to me when something is a huge craze and I’m like, whyyyyyy. Hope your day is a beautiful one, Valene. And any inkling on Utah or Colorado???
Oh wow, Beck in Kindergarten?!? He must be so excited, but I’ll be praying for you, Janae! 😉 I know it’s a big adjustment. The goal for this school year is for me to be better about getting runs in before school (which means the dreaded 4:30 am alarm) and to be more present with my family in the afternoons/evenings. So often, little teaching tasks (parent or coworker emails/texts, etc.) cause me to be on my phone, and I really want to set better boundaries with that this year.

Kindergarten. My heart aches. Thank you for the prayers, he is SO ready and I need to let him spread his wings. 4:30 alarm. You are my hero. I absolutely relate and I am setting that goal for myself, too. We’ve got this, Emily!
We are empty nesters, so back to school doesn’t impact us, but it is interesting how things naturally settle back into a routine for us when school starts again. Although, I start panicking about “running out of time” to enjoy outdoor things (backpack trips, hiking) when kids go back to school.
I am in the mix it all together camp.
Chick fil a – it has such a cult-following, but it is meh for me.

This is very interesting to me, everyone gets back on track regardless of school-aged kids! It’s time! I actually have started feeling that way with Chick fil a… probably because I ate it too much. Their ice cream and fries will always have my heart though. Have a fabulous day, Mindy!
Cutest shoes!
Do you plan to have a running coach or structured plan this fall?
I suppose I mix my bowls!
Jeff! He gave us a workout for today and did it, Molly, I am so proud of myself. Have a beautiful day, friend!

welcome!
