fuck it, my time spent playing marathon has given me so much design inspirations, and now i'm putting little baubles and doodads on my resume in an attempt to make it look human and get more attention

I just followed a joblisting for an AI company, followed the site url to find a placeholder landing page.

So i love the Burgerboo character who appeared in last week’s episode but this week is the idol parody episode and they honestly went so hard to animate the girls dancing for no reason
I wanna throw my hat into it.
It’s an idea or explanation of media (not exclusively, but showcases it best) demonstrating the values and perspectives of men in an audience over women, alongside racial and sexual minorities. It characterizes the “straight while male” as default in the assumptions of the work.
Observations made through media have the unfortunate tendency to be adopted as default observations when there exists or assumed not to any depictions to disprove it. Common examples are depictions of racism and sexism you see in media, which reinforces itself as the assumed default by others.
Real heads around here know i once tried to use the trope of “anime titties” as “ideas reinforced by media being reinforced by media” which i’ve since dropped for the 4 stages of the simulacra.
So you can sort of see that there is connection to how things are perceived IRL. Media is powerful because for many, it’s the only exposure a person may have to something i.e. anime titties. If not addressed or corrected, this leads to a feedback loop where bad observations inform new bad observations. Eventually we’ve unmoored ourselves from reality completely where there may never be a chance to correct these mistakes again. Of course for this to be really bad you’ll have to have a powerfully harmful incubation space for bad ideas to fester and build on top of one another so much that not even sunlight can kill it. Thankfully no such spaces like that exist offline or on. Now if you’ll excuse me I am getting a phone call from the rhetorical hotline, but let me take a BIIIG sip of coffee first…

So I’ve been watching 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really… and besides being a gag manga that only has the premise to have a massive and deranged cast of characters like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, I’ve also taking quite a liking to season 3’s ED. It’s djent influenced, and absolutely proves a theory I had that we’ve reached the limits of the frontier to aggressive metal music at least 20 years ago, and a big reason the song works is the vocals.
I kinda want to hear djent guitars in pop songs. They’re doing a hell of a lot more than they do in djent songs. Hell, rock and roll could used a real resurgence. Let’s get Cher to do a Symphonic Metal album, Christopher Lee did.
this kid is never going to get that it's Neoliberalism that's doing all this.

annoying how much bad fiction this is

When the anime had 3d art for the long shots instead of hand drawn stuff, you’re in for some SLOP.

What if Cute Girl Doing Cute Things but She’s also a Kaiju? Kaiju Girl Caramelise is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows this season.
Kuroe Akaishi is not your average first year high school girl, she’s small, she’s brooding, she’s dark, and artistic. There was something else…. right, she grows claws and a tail when her emotions start running away from her.
It’s a rare condition, and it only happens when her emotions are particularly volatile. Thankfully that’s not a problem for first year anime high school girls about the age of having their first crush. So anyway the handsomest boy in class begins to notice her, they talk, they bond a little.
I wanna say more, but I dont want to ruin the impact of the second half of first episode.
The show swings between High School romcom and Shin Godzilla and there’s entertainment value to that alone. Kuro is a cute character to cheer on, and her retired Biologist Researcher Gyaru Mother is my favorite as a cast of support characters begin building up.
Verdict:
we need more godzilla emotes

Their vibes have been weird for a while, least surprising turn

The TL is talking about Jobless Reincarnation since the new season started, and it really comes down to “Rudeus doesnt get punished enough bringing his past life’s lecherous self into his new life, and his serious violations of personal space and respect are protected under the cloak of being a child of a minor noble and the big event of the story.”
But it’s kinda the persistence of his old self still inhabiting the mind or soul of Rudeus. Are these sins his or are they Rudeus? Many are very much his sins, but Rudeus was no innocent man. So is this the continuation of a slovenly man who made some DIRELY POOR choices, or does a new book of sins need to be kept? It feels like the NEET needs to himself disappear and take his impulses with him, but he’s impressed himself so much on Rudeus that he seems like NEET Pt 2: Super Magic Boy.
In writing this, it’s clear to me, my take is as the series begins, the NEET doesnt seem to really appreciate what a do-over like this entails, so he brings himself into this new world. He ruins his chance at redemption early, even being a baby with bad vibes. The fact that he was a grown ass man in a baby’s body afforded him what he thought was a get-out-of-jail free card like nobody would blame a baby, but he operates his current vessel the same as his last.
It was only when he discovered magic that he really did something new as Rudeus, reading a casting book at too young of an age just because he had his adult reasoning all this time. But this all started a pattern. Rudeus would have his talents, but his development would be tainted by the adult NEET self, which skewed him because he wasnt a high water mark of reasoning to begin with.
As the show gets going it does look like Rudeus is rewarded for being who he is, and it’s important to remember that he was always privileged by being minor nobility. So he was always going to be. But to the extent the show has gone for him? A wife who he reconnected with after some really excruciating and then dumb circumstances? Opening the marriage which I guess is just normal here? Oh and the first wife that strongly established herself and then disappeared to have a goku style powerup quest, who’s completely oblivious to the developments of the story since the end of the first season.
All this makes Jobless Reincarnation a Rube Goldberg Machine of plot hooks and side characters all eventually leading to Rudeus having to pay SOMETHING for past stupidity. And he’s done some awful things SPECIFICALLY to the people he’s close to.
I can appreciate an unclean redemption story, but some of the things could be just locked away as something we dont gotta know or dont have to be added to the story. I never forgot the NEET was supposed to be a terrible person, he acted through Rudeus to do some awful shit as a child. But some of the stuff people bring up from the Light Novels? Is there or has there been adequate karmic punishment from these actions in his past life? Or up to about to this point of the story, cause i know full well he hadnt yet received a harsh sentence for the shit he was already doing.
So really, it gets to a point where i dont think, as an authored work, as a piece made with intensional decisions, that a lot of the bad things the NEET has done, the author really feels are all that bad. You really cant whitewash values at a certain point. I could wait, as I know the story develops, a detail gets revealed, but i dont know where the story goes with it. The problem is I know where the story went with just a bad of things, so I dont have a lot of hope.

I just occurred to me the overlap of fursuit haberdashery and upholstery

Internet Discourse™ is talking about the new Ghost In The Shell anime.
I had nearly forgotten that it was made as a pretty Ultra-Nationalist work. Either as politics of the author or as a reflection of what kind of politics it has to be for a wet-work government agent to even get this story moving along.
Also a lot of discussion about what Shirow Masamune is up to now… which, holy hell where do we start?

I actually talked to Mitch McConnell for 20 mins, but then the medium said I needed to pay $10,000 to continue
