Day 1- Wednesday July 27
Yellowstone was absolutely beautiful! We started off the day a little later than planned due to Addy having a stomach bug that night and morning. We got into the park around 10:30am. Drove through mountains and valleys with a large (to Southern Utahns anyway : ) river flowing through. Luckily the river was there because Ben threw up and it made clean up much easier : )
Our first stop was at Geyser Basin. It was amazing to see the water and mud boiling and the steam floating off the top.

Our next stop was lunch at a wooded picnic area, it was peaceful and cool in the shade. Then we headed down to Yellowstone Lake. Ben was asleep in the car, so Brian and I took turns taking a look at it on the short boardwalk hike.
Our last stop of the day was to the famous Old Faithful. We must have arrived soon after the previous eruption because we got a front and center bench seat and waited over an hour for "the show" Old Faithful erupts every from 90mins to 120min for around 4 mins each time.
Elise's swimsuit has flamingos on it, so she decided she wanted to stand on one leg like a flamingo in every picture.
While watching Old Faithful another, larger geyser, was also spouting off in the distance.
The second round of Old Faithful. After the first round we walked over to the market and got ice cream treats. Then we spent time looking at the geological features of the area. It was evening by this point and such perfect weather and beautiful. On our way out we got to stop and see Old Faithful one more time.
We were able to see a baby elk reunite with its mother. The baby was over by this river and the mom was on the other side of the road on the mountain. The two were calling back and forth to each other, and then with the help of tourists who stopped the traffic, the baby was able to cross the road and meet back up with its mother. 💓
