Similar story as here. Surprisingly similar - check both datasheets. The ICs were introduced in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Two different companies. A cooperation? Let's make the best of this situation and port the example to MX2/HAL2.
Don't worry. Just open the .ioc2 file in STM32CubeMX2 and hit the yellow button to generate the IDE project. Then open the project in STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code and build it.
