China is one of the few things in the current state of the world that gives me hope, because it has proven that NO amount of propaganda is ever strong enough to defeat material reality in the end, there are people I know that used to be heavily anti China and have gone completely 180 on it nowadays

I specifically remember stating 3 or 4 years ago, ‘Russia is bad but China is worse’ to my nana, I was libbed up real bad in some ways.
I now consider China to be one of the best countries on the planet albeit they do have shit international policy and there are some other legitimate criticisms to be had without resorting to le evil CCP tankie winnie pooh tianenmen or china capitalist Deng betray da revoloooshun nonsense
some people I know still say moronic things like that China would be the same as the US if they became the global superpower. And while I have a lot of ctiticisms of China (trading with an apartheid entity carrying out genocide is pretty fucking low) I don’t see how China could be like a hundredth as bad as the US, a literal genocide machine. All this to say, how are people still viewing the US positively and how is it that this is even a serious comparison worth asking people about. I assume its just the decades of US propaganda taking a very long time to wear off.
China not having started as a settler colonial project on stolen land makes a big difference.
The US’ existence is based around the oppression of other nations. Always has been and likely always will be.
Actually given China’s intensely documented history for thousands of years we can date each parcel of land back to its original affiliation when first settled. In this way we show that China has ACTUALLY committed THE MOST settler colonialism… EVER.

It takes a long time, but Gaza and Iran have done a lot to speed things up. The truth can’t be swept under the rug with these situations, and the US will keep tripping over its dick getting into these situations. There’s no going back, fortunately.
yeah and the US is only going to become more blatant and unhinged as the mental breakdown of the pedo class mirrors the breakdown of the US empire (which is going to be, and already is, terrible for everyone else).
And on Iran the European press isn’t covering the US’ butt nearly as much as on Gaza.
European press is still talking about hamas as the instigator at every opportunity but when it’s about Iran the headlines mention US aggression.

That makes sense. It’s like they’ve been conditioned into thinking the world is incapable of change and even change, like the global superpower shifiting from the US to China, is not actually a change. It fits in with the whole “easier to imagine the end of the world than capitalism” thing.
More innocently, the US is their only frame of reference as a global hegemon.
When people say that they’re basically just shouting “i’m a pea brained baby! I don’t know what ideology is or why it matters! All i know is capitalist realism but haven’t any idea of how to conceive of what that means!”
