3 days agoI have two WD Red 3TB with 109.858h and a Samsung SSD 830 256GB with 110.639h on my main workstation (which I built in 2011). That’s 12½ years and some extra hours uptime. They are all three fine and still in use.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me there is a misunderstanding of what Linkwarden is.
If you don’t trust the hosted service you can always self-host it.

That’s good to hear. The performance of the UI was always an issue for me.
Why would you wake everybody? Sitting alone on the campsite and waiting for the rest of crowd to wake up is the best.
11·14 days agoTo be fair: This study looked at the repos after flathub had announced to not accept these apps any more. I would say it is surprising that development didn’t stop everywhere immediately after that.
Looks nice.
I use this opportunity to leave a short script here that I use almost everyday. It lists my VMs and LXCs in one list and allows me to enter them (not using ssh, but direct console access). After I leave the container it lists all the possible targets again.

That seems like overkill for me tbh. That means in addition to my numerous devices I have an additional group for every one of them and it also clutters the device selector.

1·19 days agoThe last time I got excited about a phone release was when the first android devices were released (I got a Samsung Galaxy). Now I use a Pixel 6 and I am going to use it until it breaks or becomes unusable to me for some reason.

2·23 days agoThat’s true, it’s not cheap. But I have a bunch of them in the house which work great as speakers, but I have trouble integrating them properly in Home Assistant. And there are hardly any alternatives in the same form factor.
No you didn’t. We have now entered the realm of precognition. The box office success of a movie is predicted weeks before opening and movies that will not perform well won’t even start at the theatres in the future.
If you’re talking about Google Home Mini or Google Nest Mini, there is a project on GitHub which replaces the PCB with an open alternative. The boards for the Home Mini are in production right now and Nest Mini is going to be the next.
I’m pretty sure that these are not the Steam TOS (as Klei is mentioned explicitly). But nonetheless the Steam Subscriber Agreement contains similar terms (and almost certainly always has).

I usually read my RSS feeds on my phone. That’s fine - I could do this by just subscribing to the sources directly. But every once in a while I want to look up something I read some years ago and I don’t quite remember what the article was called and where it was published. Filtering and searching on my desktop is much more convenient and I have my history saved there - even if the blog in question is offline in the meantime. In addition some RSS feeds only send a short text and a “read more” link. With FreshRSS I can configure a feed to automatically load the complete article from the website and in my reader it shows up as if the feed was a real full feed with pictures and everything. I can even compress the pictures to optimize loading as my main reader is my phone.
