I was so confused after watching Marvel movies. Not including X men, I’ve only seen guardians of the galaxy vol. 1, black panther, one of the captain Americas, and the spider man that had Toby Mcguire come back. All CGI souless junk.

My favorite hero movie is Chronicle

It is a scam when people don’t use it but I like starting a job and being able to take PTO immediately instead of waiting 2 months for a full day. And I also like taking off whenever without checking if I can.

I worked at a company that accrued PTO and only paid it back if you gave a 6 week notice when quitting. We only found out after someone working there 15 years got $0 back after giving 4 week notice (think the company followed the standard 2 week).

So you’re not a more noble worker if you never take PTO, the moral is always take it even when you don’t need it. At least once a month or 1 full week per quarter.

but it got me wondering if this was supposed to mean that others began following their ways of engaging in dishonesty and dishonor worldwide. I kept assuming throughout the movie that they’d suddenly have an attack by that group; this aspect of the story was also something I found interesting.

Yes, I think the giants scene was that. Work spread of the men from the sea to the giants weren’t taking chances and fought the strangers.

After finishing the movie I told my friend I could tell it would make mythology nerds angry, they are a mythology nerd too and didn’t love it. It’s one of those ignorance is bliss things

I haven’t read the Odyssey nor do I study much on Greek myths, so I had a great time. I was worried it would be a stale hero’s journey on conquest, was, strong men so I appreciates the reflective telling instead.

When the dialog and styling were more modern and then Charlize Theoron cat walked on that island like a model, I knew the intention was to be a modern adaption. The Odyssey isn’t Shakespeare so those creative liberties were what Nolan wanted.

I held my breath on what the intent of the movie was but the “men from the sea” fucking up Zeus law causing people to forever lose their trust in each other was perfect. Then having to be punished by being the men from the sea was great too, you destroyed humanity now take your lashings, your greatest military success was a disaster for humanity.

Like on one hand stocks haven’t been based on anything for a while now so the price can fluctuate for no reason, but to fall for a self determined company valuation- a company that relied on public funding to satisfy some woowoo mars voyage- is silly.

Good friend of mine was excited to get the spaceX stock because “it’s worth a billion dollars.” I told them it’s fake valuation, they said they hope I’m wrong. I keep looking at the price and wish I told them to sell immediately and avoid holding. Oh well. Musk will always make money from somebody

I meantioned this in the other comment but I’m alluding to the disillusionment between the interest of the state and the need of the people. I chose the space race because it was also a highly funded sought out new technological advancement being sold as an advancement in human kind while Black people were under segregation (amongst other global issues going on at the time). So just like AI, the question is advancement for which humans? And the answer for either AI or Space Race is the same

I’m partially referencing the poem “Whitey on the Moon” as a source for apathy to the space race, where the next step in some technological advancement doesn’t mean a thing to general people beyond heightened patriotism.

I can’t believe the next cold war space race is about LLM models but to be fair I’m sure the space race looked dumb in the 60s too
