Citing backlash, ISBNdb removed its webpages about training AI, denied ever buying, scanning, or selling a book for AI training, and said the site was a “test of market interest.”
Now that every AI company knows about it, they don’t need the bad reactions from the rest of the world, so they hide the trash under the carpet.
That’s my reaction as well. They’re not going to actually stop doing this over some bad press, they’re just going to be more secretive about it.
