Saw this thread on the user forum. Anyone here has any ideas? :)
Just 28 versions until it’s a nice round number!
Get all the maintainers in a game of Rust and livestream it.
Fork zig as a side project, adopt the 6 weeks release cycle, create a roadmap with v1.0 to be released in 60 weeks, which is enough time for 3 alphas, 3 betas, and 3 release candidates.
Vibe port the Zig compiler to Rust? 😄
1 million line PR? LGTM
The test suite passes, so it’s 100% memory safe according to zig guidelines and standards.
This is the way.

yeet.@SorteKanin Rewrite chromium into Rust, That would be a good Idea to celebrate 1.100
We would settle for working Cloudflare turnstiles in servo, my friend.
I would personally celebrate that, if it gets pulled off.
@ISO yeah captcha stuff did not work properly in my testing a while back.
Do you daily drive Servo?
Do you daily drive Servo?
No. Because Cloudflare turnstiles don’t work 😉.
@argv_minus_one @SorteKanin Servo is good for embedded stuff but not a viable daily driver.
Maybe something like the bun rewrite can be done, but surely chromium is humongous as compared to bun’s codebase and migration will be much more difficult.
I dunno, seems like they’re rapidly approaching daily-driver capability. https://servo.org/blog/2026/07/31/june-in-servo/
