There are two subscription types:

1. ArcGIS Online subscription: A product subscription for an organization or group with users that can share and collaborate with members inside or outside of their organization. A subscription requires at least one user to activate and administer the account. Once activated, the administrator can purchase additional user types. The storage of data and usage of ArcGIS content and services are billed using creditsCredits are the currency used by ArcGIS Online Organization accounts to account for data storage and location service consumption.
