There was a music video of all the stars doing a line each. It was not the best.

Both i think. medals all round!

Thanks

I don’t get this.

TBF marketing is not just direct ads. The constant articles or media arguments are still marketing. I might have wanted to see it before but all the discussions online about it put me off. the more something is pushed the less I like it.
All the discussions of iMax etc, I even got shown a music video made by the stars. I watched it to be polite but TBH i found it a bit cringe and i now have the feeling of go away already. I used to love cinema and movies. But marketing and hype just kills any passion i have now.

Yeh because everyone sees themselves as a ‘brand’ and with that comes internet points and possibly sponsorship. Its not passion driving what they do, its commercialization pushing them to be something special amongst a sea of mediocrity…So gotta to scream or complain louder.
Its not unfair to have personal pet peeves esp about tropes, or to air them, but building a cult around it is a bit extreme.

Anyone else feel a bit offended by this in general?
Is it a problem? or is it just feedback that he is feeling sensitive about?
I really dislike it when groups/individuals who often court influence and dialogue to market but don’t like it on the flip side. They have fed these ecosystems but bite back at the content that dismisses them. You want people to talk about your movie/music/show then simply accept you have no control over the direction and tone of the talk.
I wonder if he takes offense to amateur film advocates…or in general viewers? as i feel like these kinda statements make me feel like I am not allowed to share my opinion on his movies i watched.

Cruella de-ville wanted 99 puppies back in the day and no one saw issue with that till it came out why…books, puppies, if you love the product, not wanting them to be used nefariously and choosing to air that moralistic stance rather than just cash in tells you a lot. This lady should be applauded.

Yup, its an assault from many directions. Books have had a glut in the past and TBH most people were reluctant to pay for average chaffe, our second hand shops are a testament. I personally love print, the smell the feel, the knowing the processes involved involved, I feel the same about other media. I will argue all day long recent digital has harmed these. I know some champion digital art, id argue if its so readily available is no longer desirable…but that is a whole other argument.
I think for me its a matter of preserving the ideas. Why are they doing this? traditionally the idea of burning book was to stop the spread of ideas. In terms of revolution (renaissance, enlightenment, then industrial) each new one has information to flow free-er and ideas have grown So whats the aim here for burning? is it to sell the info, is it to repress ideas? i think identifying that will allow better preservation and resistance.

Wow your thinking of the human here, clearly not a profitable AI trait.
Do you need me to recommend brands to maximize SHAREHOLDER VALUE? Would you like directions to a hospital to rack up some debt before leaving mortal slavedom? Ensure to leave all subscriptions running.

Ok yes thanks for the explanation.

It’s about ringfencing the info/story. She should release the booklist so alternative digital can be collected and protected.
There is no ‘good’ reason for destruction. Not even ideological. This is simple planned greed

So the Groypers are an ultra right wing movement who have grown their cause from the internet and it’s now manifesting in staffer positions of GOP?
Am I reading this correct?
And it’s too right for GOP?

Marketing is like a diseased cult leader. Why do people flock to this crap.
Arrr me mateys year media media is freeeeee and ad-less

Honestly these guys are the worst nerds. They still trying to be cool. Whats the thing with Americans and rich people wanting to be a mafia boss?

They produced it…offering their product as a solution to the conformity being imposed. They are now. who they warned us against

Its the shift of tone that bothers me, for years it was ‘we would never infringe’ we all suspected they may. Suddenly they are not only saying they will do it, they are even telling us its a service we should pay for. The amount of people on board with this scares me.
This is it. Don’t need apps. Don’t need overpriced crap food.
